| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 17, 2007 Smooth appealing pour, with a deep amber color and the smell of serious alcohol with distinct raisen note. Very malty and overpowering alcohol which is not terribly balanced but a great way to become inebriated. Sappy sugary hopefully will balance out in a few years. bbp182 (255), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

Raisin and alcohol smell. Malty. WOW! Malty, sweet, raisins. The alcohol is just all I taste. Not really that well balanced, just, wow, isn’t like any other beer I had before. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2007 The aroma spews hot alcohol in a vaporous miasma that only recedes slightly offering sweet raisin, fruit, brown sugar and malt notes. The body is a sullen brown that sits headless, a glowering glass of muddy river water cursing it’s bald state. The initial sip is hot with alcohol and tastes of brown alcohol dissolved into raisin juice. The swallow is bitter, but from what is aeriform alcohol coating the mouth and tongue which imparts a chemical bitterness rtaher than a hop bitterness. The aftertaste is sugary and almost tastes like something that is yet to be fermented and still holds plenty of fermentables for ravenous yeast. Quevillon (1522), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 12, 2007 Bouteille procuré à Belfast Co-op (Maine), format 355 ml.

Very powerfull but still well balanced. Malt, raisins, other dark and dried fruits, hops and alcohol. thenick (744), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2007 Pours a deep red with a very slight head. Aroma is malty with a hint of raisins thrown in. Taste is incredibly smooth and alcohol-free given the strength of this beer, and raisins and other fruits dominate the palate. I had to split a 12oz bottle with 2 other people because of the overpowering alcohol content and sweetness, but it is wonderful in short bursts. patrick767 (2019), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 3, 2007 12 oz bottle - Pours deep amber with a very thin head. The aroma is of sweet raisins, malt, and obvious alcohol presence. The alcohol is actually less noticeable in the flavor, though it’s still there, as the syrupy sweetness of this brew buries it. Full bodied and lightly carbonated, it certainly packs a punch and the raisin flavor is very nicely done. It’s good though also the sweetness is a little overdone. jujubeast6000 (777), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Pours a brown red color, some head, tan, diminishing. Very super strong dark fruit & sugary aroma, some malt. Alcoholy aroma. Alcoholy, grape sweet taste with an aftertaste of smoke. Strong and syrupy sweet, but tasty. Creamy. Will probably age well. Pretty good.
