Flavor is sweet... a little nasty. White grape, cloying sweetness. White grape comes through strong on a large hit. Could be worse... maybe... drewbeerme (2272), Chicago, Illinois, USA

The aroma was similar to raisons and captian morgan. It was like a ride on a warm-air balloon that never ends. Very strong beer, could taste the raison...monster... | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Dark honey color with a massive creamy white head. Raisons and malt in the nose with raisins coming through particularly strong on the very malty body. An excellent brew for an afternoon at the grill. beerbill (1939), Laurel, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 20, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium deep reddish brown with a moderate linen white head that lasted through almost half the glass. Light, pleasant aroma of malt, caramel, and raisins. The first sip was a surprise for me. This beer is loaded with flavor. Malt and caramel up front and then luscious fruity raisins. Absolutely delicious. I knew the ABV was high, as there is a warming sensation at the swallow, but at 18.5%, it is extremely well hidden. Luxurious mouthfeel reminds me of relaxing with a glass of port more than sipping a beer. Excellent stuff. acearl (211), J-Town, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 19, 2007 I must have missed something here or really did not expect what is was. I felt like the raisons and sugars really overpowered this with sweetness, carmel was evident as well. Now that I see Alcohol% I would like to try again. Not my favorite dogfish head when I had it, but I can admit maybe I was wrong. nflmvp (13), Fox Valley, Wisconsin, USA

This poured a dark copper with little head. The color was very apealing and so was the aroma....sweet but not too sweet with lots of raison and little hop. Mouthfeel was thick and coated every inch of the inside of my mouth with warm subtle sweetness. I had this in a snifter and found it to be VERY drinkable (sipable..is that even a word?). Surprisingly little bite for the high ABV. One bottle seemed perfect for one person. Of course, I had nothing more to drink the entire evening but I savored this for a couple of hours and ended the night with a smile on my face. I enjoyed this at least as much as I enjoyed the Worldwide Stout.
