Bottle. Reddish amber colour with a little weak head. Aroma of raisons and sweet alcohol. Flavour also of sweet alcohol and raisins, nearly like desert wine. Not bad at all.

Another masterpiece from Dogfish. How’d they even get it to 18% abv? Viscous and thick, like motor oil. Very sweet, which hides the alcohol. Tastes like 12%. Raisin flavors everywhere.

Very excited about this "extreme " beer from Dogfish. Pours smooth with a reddish brown hue. Appears cloudy with a small light brown head. The high alcohol level is evident in the initial aroma which is followed by a grape and honey scent. Initial syrupy texture that is similar to other Dogfish beers with high alcohol content. Sweet flavor with tastes of raisons, honey that is not overwhelming. Overall a good beer that provides a unique experience, yet is not outstanding except for its alcohol content.

Bottle. Pours a mediocre amber with a small head; no life. Smells like a good Belgian mixed with a good red wine. Woodsy tones in there, too. Flavor is a thin, immediate sweet raisin, and the alcohol kicks in soon after. Notes of peach and mango in there as well. Balanced mouthfeel with a decent aftertaste of sweet raisins. The alcohol warms the belly nicely. An anomaly from Dogfish Head-- a good, solid beer that I will definitely buy more of and sip and put away for next year.

A good Strong Ale. Caramel, malty, and raisin flavors. Finishes rich, creamy, and smooth.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, dried fruits aroma. Taste was of raisin, liqueur, fruit and alcohol. Medium to full body with a sweet mellow alcoholic finish. A good sipping brew.

12oz Bottle - 19% ABV. I am very interested in trying this beer, but I don’t know what to expect. Pours a dark copper/amber color with a nice reddish-white head on top. Aroma is full of raisins. Also hints of caramel, grapes, and malt. Flavor is full of raisins with hints of caramel and malts. The alcohol taste is there but surprisingly not overbearing, a slight burning sensation is felt at the end. A very unique beer, I would love to try some with some age on it to see what happens. A nice after dinner beer.

A deep copper/red. Not much head to speak of, some clinging foam on side of glass. Nose of burnt sugar, caramel, raisons, vanilla, honey and others. Full bodied, fairly syrupy, lots of malt sweetness, raisons and caramel everywhere, alcohol is there but not harsh. Very warming and comforting. A nice way to end my day.
