| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Bottle. Nose is reminiscent of apple juice. Sweet with subtle hints of the raisins, and a touch of spice. Cloudy reddish gold with a thin and swirly white head. Sweet as hell, it wraps around the tongue and puts it in a chokehold. Somehow it works though, coming just short of cloying and actually leaving a pleasant impression. It’s thick enough to be chewed, which is absolutely necessary. Very mild hints of alcohol, amazingly balanced for the abv. mansquito (852), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 17, 2007 Has a pretty, pretty molasses colour with a tan head that is gone and leaves only lacing. It smells like nothing short of the urine of Zeus. Has an extremely thick body and an intensely sweet fruity taste. Brown sugar is a good way to describe it. High gravity warms the stomach rather well. All in all, this beer is pretty close to divinity... well not quite. millysdaddy (67), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 11, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a warm, amber brown with a thin, tan head. Aromas of raisin and other dried fruits. Flavors of caramel, coffee, raisin and warming alcohol. Although the beer is very sweet, there is a slightly dry and bitter finish. This is a great dessert beer (enjoying some brownies with it right now). It could be used in place of a port or red dessert wine. shawnm213 (1035), South Bend, Indiana, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Bottled 3/07. Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a nice head. Head retention is very long and laces the glass very nicely. Aroma is a mixture of alcohol and fruit with the fruit dominating. The first taste made me wish I wasn’t born. Very harsh. Once I got used to drinking what seemed like a rubbing alcohol beer it seemed to get better. I think there are some raisins in there somewhere. Overall I enjoyed this beer. I knew it would be a high alcohol beer and it did not disappoint. oteyj (822), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA

Flavor is strong- intense raisin with chocolate and dark fruit evident. Notes of brandy and alcohol noticeable as well. Palate is sweet and coats the mouth with redsidual sugar. Finish is wet and moderately cloying. But overall quite enjoyable.
