ABV: 18.5 % Calories: estimated at 300 C Volume: 12 fl oz Glass: Trappist Purchased at: Circle Liquors Super Saver, Pennington, NJ Price: $5.99 Consumed at: home Impression: A beautifully dark, deep ruby color, slightly hazy due to bottle conditioning. The alcohol is present even in the aroma, but it is also a mix of chocolate, raisins, and sweetness and flowers. The taste is just too much for me. Very much like the 120 Minute IPA, it simply overwhelms the palate, and tastes almost like syrup, but an alcoholic syrup. It demands to be lightly sipped. Just a bit on the tongue is all I can enjoy, and I’m not that big a fan of raisins. It makes one’s eyes cross. Affects all areas of the mouth. Rich like molten lava cake, it’s hard for me to enjoy, though I’m glad I found my limits in this latest batch of tastings. The color was medium brown/orange. There was barely any head. The aroma was fortified wine, dry/sweet, dark fruit, and cherry. The flavor was sweet, alcohol, spice, honey, and fortified wine. The palate was very thick-bodied. The finish was warm and sweet.

Thanks to a couple of people for a bottle of this. Pours a murky still dark brown with light ruby notes in the light. Coaxes no head. The nose is very pungent, rich, alcohol, sweet, raisin, fruit, port, molasses, definitely lets you know you’re drinking something big. The flavor is extremely big, very rich and intense. Tastes more like a port and sherry at the same time, very warm and hot alcohol, sweet dry fruits, plum and raisin, earthiness, molasses, honey. Very interesting and I have to give it unique points. Still hot mouthfeel with a coating sweetness. Finishes warm and sweet with a nice smoothness to it. I ended up enjoying it a lot.

Huge amounts of raisins and dark fruits present in this beer. Very sweet, very aloholic. High alcohol content doesn’t burn as much as other high ABV ales I’ve tried. Very drinkable.

12 oz bottle from case and keg in Boca Raton. Dark amber pour almost brown, tan fizzy head that quickly dissipates. Fruity alcoholic aroma. Figs, raisons, plums and loads of sugar. Very cloying and alcoholic. good, but was it worth the 12 bucks?
