Commercial Description:
A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

Orange red color. Beautiful head that sits nicely. Lots of orange peel on the nose. Several hops and other fruits noticeable as well. Winelike texture which is not surprising. Slightly bitter flavor but lots of orange. Wine comes through in the finish. This was way better than expected. Incredible mix that satisfied me.

Bottle from KawaBomber. Pours a deep hazy orange color. Dark fruits, citrus, oak, cherries, light nuttiness, and alcohol warmth. Pretty good Belgian. Medium mouthfeel, a fair amount of carbonation. Thanks Melissa!

this was a very good beer. The flavor was very different for me. It holds up well against other Beligans. I’d try this beer again.

This beer has some subtle citrus, smoke and wine qualities. Looks great and tastes great. There is more alcohol taste than in say, a belgian quad but still a top notch beer.

Bottle, shared with my good friend Kyle and others at his wedding. This is a hazy orange amber colour with a thick, full, off-white head. The aromas are full of wood: oak; some funky citrus in there too, banana. Smells really nice. The mouthfeel is medium to full, a bit spritzy despite the body. There are plenty of more woody flavours in there after a sip; I taste a fair bit more citrus too, some dark fruits with orange, alcohol. What a strange/wonderful combination of lighter summery citrus flavours with darker and stronger belgian ale type flavours. Sadly, the flavour of alcohol is a bit overwhelming.

On tap. Hazy deep amber beer. Slight yeasty nose, some citrus as well. Subtle woody flavor, complex character. Alcohol crept up on the mouth, slightly acidic also. This beer has great subtleties. Quality brew.

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to experience this beer on draft. Our review is based on a 26.5 fluid ounce bottle with metal cap. Aroma: Distinctive, interesting aroma, hind of orange/coconut/red wine. Appearance: similar to a full bodied amber ale, sediment. Flavor: Obviously preferred draft to bottle, excellent balance between strength and character, a hint of a green grape flavor with exceptional body, clean finish. Palate: Rich body with smooth "mouth feel", this beer rolls around on your tongue. Overall Imprsions: Smooth, well balanced (big (10%)) beer. Intersting use of pinot noir and oak barrels.
