Commercial Description:
A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

On tap at Novare Res. Pours a nice light yellow-gold with hints of reddish pink. Aroma is a nice pinot like grape scent. Flavor is dry, alcoholic, and slightly fruity. This is a nice dry beer with wine hints, i like this style. Another pretty cool brew from Dogfish.

More gold than red, thin translucent head on a deep, golden hazy body, looks very nice. Taste is deep Belgian, fruity with a very warm finish. Truly great and with an amazing finish. You can really taste the wine. Sticky, sweet and warm. A must have.

Draft at Binny’s South Loop. I never really had a strong desire to taste this one, but now I’m glad I did. Pours an orange color with a distinct nose of a Belgian wit with a touch of banana and vanilla, as well as citric notes. Taste is very vanilla forward from the oak with a distinct pungent pinot character as well. The flavors come together really nicely and I never once felt overwhelmed by the alcohol character. Very nice.

A Twitter friend recommended this beer. This is one of those dangerous beers; the alcohol taste is hidden by the complex flavors. The nose is fresh, fruity with citrus tones. The color is almost a peach blush. It pours with a nice white head which slowly fades but never completely goes away. The flavor reminds me a bit of Dutch "drop", the tasty licorice that is so popular in the Netherlands. This beer has changed my whole attitude about Dogfish - I’m planning to buy a few bottles and set them aside for future goodness.

Bottle. Pours a nice redish orange. Long lasting foamy head. Nose is sweet, with some malts, bread scents and citrus. Decently carbonated. Syrupy palate. Bottle I had was a couple months old, which helped remove some of the alcohol on the back end, leaving a sweeter and more enjoyable beer.

Bottle. Apricot pour, minimal carbonation and some good funky yeast. Flavor was honey, raisins, flowers, malt, and some brown sugar. Finish was warming and slightly abbrasive, wish it was a little weaker on the alcohol.

Bottle and on draft. Pours a dark amber body with a thin wispy head. Cherries vinous character a light oak and woodiness. Big malt body with some lighter citric notes and peppercorn into a moderate alcohol warming. Good brew.
