Cherries vinous character a light oak and woodiness. Big malt body with some lighter citric notes and peppercorn into a moderate alcohol warming. Good brew. CptGreencoat (68), Kettering, Ohio, USA

Pours to a beautifully cloudy orange with a one finger white head that is slow to dissipate. Nose is fruity, yeast and clove. The head laces the glass from when I slightly tipped it for a sniff, and stays seemingly permanent. I was expecting a huge taste out of this one, given it’s 10% ABV, but it masks it’s alcohol very well with lighter flavors - while still retaining warmth. Though it isn’t as "in your face" as I’d have expected, it’s still fantastically complex. The first thing you’ll notice is the thickness of this brew which makes for a very smooth drink. It’s slightly tangy, with nice fruit notes and the lasting taste that only a Wit can achieve. This brew is well worth the price of admission ($12 for a pint and 9 ounces) and worth revisiting. Another great Dogfish Head product. changeup45 (788), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Sampled on draft at Redlight. Reddish-amber color with a nice bar poured off-white head and a notch of lacing after each sip. The aroma seemed a tad on the mild side with bananas, cloves and yeast. Lots of bananas and cloves show in the flavor with some vanilla and berries with an alcoholic tangy finish. This really is an Imperial Wit but dangerously drinkable. Good beer... I was hesitant to buy a bottle of this because I wasn’t sure if it would be any good but the draft I had was quite tasty. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA

Hazy light reddish body, good sized off-white head. Flavor is very pleasing, fruity, not overly sweet. Yeast and malt are evident. Nice. j12601 (1215), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Mini growler from Half-Time. Pours a cloudy opaque ruby brown with a small white head that vanishes quickly. I would assume most of the cloudiness is my own doing, as even with just one day sitting, a good bit of sediment had begun to settle out, and I wasn’t about to let that stuff not get mixed back in. Red wine, sugar cane, cherries, and baking bread on the nose. Medium thick body, with very little carbonation. Starts sweet and ends with flavors of candied bananas and port, full of stone fruits. The ABV on here peeks through in a couple of places, mostly afterwards as a nice warming sensation. Pretty interesting brew. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

2/22/2009: Dogfish Head Red & White has the appearance of blush wine (as far as the color goes anyways). It has a densely foamy offwhite head that has a pinkish hue to it, bubbly champagne-like carbonation, and a mostly clear complexion. The aroma is kind of sweet, fruity, and sugary with a slight wine-like bouquet. The flavor definitely exhibits a bit of alcohol that almost overwhelms the delicate Pinot Noir notes in the front. The middle is strong with some cotton candy flavor and the finish has some spicy notes and a touch dry. A good deal of lacing from the head is left on the glass after each drink. This beer has medium to medium-full body. It is smooth and very easy to drink. This is truly an "Imeperial Wheat" beer! I like this beer and it definitely packs a punch for the style, but it is a bit expensive at $11.99+tax/bottle.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2009 10 oz draft served on tap at Binnys South Loop (Chicago, Il). Pours an interesting amber with gold notes around the edges with small white head, nice translucent body, in a wine glass. Aromas are grainy, like the brewhouse during the mash, light berry notes, oak, and yeast. Initial is sweet, welcoming yeasty and malts characters, light oak, light fruity winey pinot characteristics, mild oak, and a touch of the witbier shines through. Sweet. Full. Finishes full with a malty palate stick with light fruit. Ok. Not something I would revisit. Too sweet for me.
