Commercial Description:
A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

Draft at Redlight Redlight. Cloudy dark orange pour with a thick white head. Malty belgian triple aroma with hints of wine and orange peel. Dry malty tart flavor with hints of citrus, hops and wine. Dry fruity aftertaste with a slightly boozy bite. Good beer.

Had on tap at Redlight. Had nice orange color. Very citrusy body. Malty towads the end. Also very strong alcohol taste towards the end... not bad, but not my fave...

750->tulip: Pours a huge, frothy, white head that exhibits fair lacing atop a murky, heavily particulate dark orange body. Aroma of green apples and sour cherries with a taste of pinot noir midway thru the flavor. The body is medium, the texture is thin, but oily, average carbonation. The flavor’s duration is long, moderately sweet and lightly acidic.

Pours a light slightly amber color with a decent white head. Aroma is wine like some notes similar to a trippel. Taste also resembles a trippel with some nice winey/champagne like characteristics.

No haed to speak of. Body was a hazy orange color and very cloudy. Flavor had lots of orange, coriander & sweetness to it. A nice white beer (astringent) flavor kept you going for more. I tried this at room temp, but cold may have brought out more of the flavors. Very good and tasty

Bottle @ Brouwer’s, Seattle. Pours a clear reddish color with a small white head. Fruity spicey orange aroma. Warming wheaty malty spicey orange and pinot noir flavor. Sweetish malty wheaty fruity orange finish.

750mL. Pours clear dark gold with a lacy white head. Fruit and spice aroma, but light on the spice. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Sweet toffee and fruit taste. I can pick up a bit of the oak and pinot taste, but I have to concentrate on it - much nicer than getting whacked upside the head with it.

Bottle pours out a amber topped with a small head. Aroma of bread, yeast, and plenty of sweetness. Tast sugar, spice, and everything nice. Just kidding. Nothing to great a let down from DFH.
