| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2008 750mL. Pours clear dark gold with a lacy white head. Fruit and spice aroma, but light on the spice. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Sweet toffee and fruit taste. I can pick up a bit of the oak and pinot taste, but I have to concentrate on it - much nicer than getting whacked upside the head with it. BuckeyeBoy (1654), Boise, Idaho, USA

Aroma of bread, yeast, and plenty of sweetness. Tast sugar, spice, and everything nice. Just kidding. Nothing to great a let down from DFH. awiseman01 (342), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Stong aroma and taste. Wheat side comes through well as does the wine-like character. Taste improves immensly as this one warms. Fruit comes out well in the end. Not bad, not great. jake65 (1698), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Tastes spicey with some bananas, esters, and cloves. A very light amount of grape. Not really picking up on any barrel notes. Sort of boring, but still ok. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA

Good. danielcurtis81 (885), San Diego, California, USA

First sips are overpowered by the Belgian yeasts, admittedly not my favorite to start out with. Fruity flavors build as does the sweetness. A few hints of oak but not much of the pinot comes through.
