Commercial Description:
A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, tupalev, jerc & garthicus - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Hazy red with a small off-white head. Fruity aroma with a lot of grape, a bit of coriander and other vague herbal notes. Medium bodied. Flavours of fruit and cream, with hints of wood and wine, and a mildly herbal finish. Didn’t wow me, but still quite tasty.

Bottled. A hazy ddep red beer with a small amount of yeast sediment floating around under a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of cherries as well as lighter notes of almond. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries, almonds, and alcohol on a light malty background, but also with hints of acidity. The mouthfeel is quite sparkling.

pours clouds with little bits floating around. Huge head. Smells sweet of belgian but hints of wine. Taste is oak up front giving in to a light red taste. Little spices and alcoholic finish. I can taste the oak. This is a excellent balance between beer and wine. This has a lot going on and could turn a couple wine snob heads. Highly recommended!

Red-orange amber, colloidal yeast, huge white foamy head. Sweet aroma, fruity (cherries?), with some alcohol. Very sweet palate, lots of malt with a berry-cherry fruitiness, some spice, and a dry finish. The alcohol is a warming presence in the finish without being intrusive or harsh.

Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev, jerc & garthicus -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy pinkish-red with an average size frothy off-white head. Nice lacing. Interesting fruity aroma, along with light spices, caramel malt and some oak. Flavour of caramel malt, pretty fruity, and with light oak and spices. Light bitter finish. Alcohol’s somewhat well hidden. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.
