| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 13, 2008 On tap at Max’s. Orange brown pour with a red tint. Hazy with not much head. Lots of Belgian wittiness on the nose. Spicy and wheaty! Flavor tastes like you’re regular old wit as well, except there’s just a ton of alcohol that overpowers it. It seems the alcohol is the only part of the pinot noir that’s in the beer. Completely undrinkable.... Elizavyeta (110), Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2008 Perfumey and floral with a citrusy aroma. The head is thin and wispy, revealing a lovely amber body. Overall flavor is heavy on the orange, finishing into a lilac, lavendar, and almost smokey note. Light and open on the palate, a certain sweet and, again, perfume-like flavor creeps in.
Would be a nice accompaniment for a pear tart or possibly a bar of dark chocolate. WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours a reddish-amber color with a big white head. Aroma is light and earthy, with a mix of grains, wood, hops, cloves, and coriander. Taste is light and crisp, with a flavor of dark fruit, hops, grain, and spices giving way to a finish of warming alcohol and wood. Very wine-like when all is said and done -- light and refreshing, but full of flavor as well. Oakes (8080), gone rambling, Vietnam
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2008 Nice accent to the amber - a little blush if you will. Aroma has some dry woody notes with cherryish overtones. Alcohol kicks things off, adding vinous and cherry nuances. Finishes with a real flat sort of woodiness and very late alcohol heat. Wish there was as much subtlety in the beer as there is in that colour. wetherel (1589), Encinitas, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 9, 2008 Bottle from kryptic yesterday. Thanks Mike! I was fretting no finishing a 750mL bottle of beer, because it’s 10%, so I took it to PP bottle shop to share. Pours with a small head. Light amber color. Pronounced corriander aroma. High ABV reduces drinkability, but decent otherwise. BuckeyeSammy (455), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 8, 2008 dark brown ruby, low head. Nicely carbonated. Flavor of malt, dark fruit, raisons, dates, alcohol on the back end. Thick and a bit syrupy. I liked this one, it was a bit unusual. greenleaf (90), Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 6, 2008 Bottle 750. Pours a deep orangish-red with a small, but lacing white head. Nose is of typical wit spices and the not so typical pinot noir. The taste is an outstanding blend of belgian yeast, corriander, bitter orange peel, and cloves all mixed with a fairly well balanced wine note that comes to the forefront. The after taste is quite earthy, but pleasent. This is the first marriage of beer and wine that I have had, but it makes me want to experiment with my home brews. A fantastic beer.
