Commercial Description:
A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

Bottle. A amber to red beer with a pink head. The aroma and taste is sweet and of yeast and fruits. Medium body with a dry light alcoholic finish.

Bottle. Pours a color very similar to a white zinfandel, with not much head to speak of. Aroma is somewhat spoiled fruit juice, metallic notes and malt. Flavor has some fruity sweetness, fair bit of malt and a little yeastiness. Interesting beer, but somewhat unbalanced.

Bomber. Redish-orange color with a good haze and a few decent sized flakes floating around inside. Fairly small white head. Huge yeasty, fruity aroma with some spices mixed in. Flavors blend oranges, yeasty bread, and spice. I really didn’t taste the wine I was expecting. Comes across as a nice Belgian style ale with a bit of fruit added. I enjoyed this, but it’s not really all that unusual considering how much it cost. So overall, good...just not worth the money.

Bottle from Rozi’s, I purchased about a year ago. Pours red, slight haze with a dense, off white head, and nice lacing. Aroma of oak, berries, and malt. The pinot noir and spices really dominate the start, and this finishes semi-dry dry and peppery, with lots of wood flavor. Alcohol is very apparent as well, but does not distract too much. This one is a bit messy and harsh, and the malt profile is overpowered by everything else that went into this beer, especially the Pinot Noir. This is an interesting concept, but falls a little short for me.

(bottle) A cloudy amber body and thin head. Aroma is sweet and slightly tart fruit - maybe a hint of orange, alcohol, and yeast. Flavor has lots of sweet malt, but not overly sweet. The alcohol is strong, too, and warms it up as you drink. I didn’t think of it as a Wit at all, but very good nonetheless. Creamy full body. I would drink it again.

bottle from archerliquors. Clear pinkish golden with a fizzy white head. Wine, orange, and clove aroma -- quite nice. Buttery slightly bright palate. It has the witbeir qualities of orange and spice, notably coriander, with some really interesting red wine character that works magnificently together. Excellent.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Pours a hazy, reddish amber with a slightly reddish head. Lightly tart aroma also with fruit, yeast, diacetyl and alcohol. Quite full-bodied with sweetish malt and fruity notes - somewhat berry-like. Surprisingly hoppy with a somewhat burning alcohol in the finish. Didn’t really pick up any hints of a Wit in here. 190408

750 ml bottle thanks to broncoman, thanks Darin. Pours a coudy orange with an average size white head. Aroma of grass, yeast, coriander, citrus and some vinous notes. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of coriander, yeast, bread, fruit and slight wine. Okay beer but I found the coriander distracting and overpowered the vinous notes.
