SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Apr 3, 2008 Bach Home Again Tasting - 750ml bottle - Bottled 02/09/07: Bright copper pour with a soap bubble head. The nose is slightly vinous, resembling a sweet wine with subtle notes of grape and apple. Big ether back. As it warms, a more dominant caramel profile comes forth to balance the sweet wine notes and bring this back to the realm of beer. The body is a bit watery for me. The slight nuances of the wit yeast show towards the finish, with fruity esthers coming forth. Interesting and complex, just not something I’d like ever day. BossHossBikes (147), Tennessee, USA Apr 2, 2008 Bottle. The pour is amber with a quickly dissipating pale head. Initially, the aroma has a tangy sourness to it with a copious amount of spices. As your senses become accustomed to the sharp bouquets, more mellow, caramelly sweet notes become apparent. The flavour is very, very interesting. It’s very creamy to the tongue. Citrus flavours such as grape, orange, and grapefruit mix very well with spices. I’m not much into heavy spices, but has a very good balance. Towards the finish, the mouth feel quickly becomes dry as bitterness starts to creep in. The citric qualities slowly fade as bready qualities become apparent. Spices, however, have a longer lasting impression. The flavours in this beer is complex and layered. It’s very delicious. GMCC2181 (846), Bear, Delaware, USA Apr 1, 2008 Bottle: Beautiful red/amber color, with a big frosty white head. Aroma is spices, fruit, and a hint of orange/banana. Flavor is smooth. Dried fruit, spices and taste a little like a wine. Texture is light and very easy to drink. Light carbonation. Alcohol is hidden well. Good recreation of a belgian by DFH! It kind of reminds me of pannepot. Over all a very enjoyable beer! Vas19 (293), Maryland, USA Mar 31, 2008 Pours hazy amber with a creamy white head. Nose is fruit, spice, yeast. Flavor is belgian spice, fruit, and caramel. The end is bready with a hint of alcohol. A strange beer but pretty good overall. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Mar 31, 2008 Aroma is strong and malty with an overtone of fruit, something like apple or pear. It pours a lovely orange-brown-amber with a thick and fine-bubbled head. Flavor is malty and well-rounded with some hop bitterness and a pronounced fruity overtone, rather like a good cider. Crisp and refreshing, this is another winner from Dogfish Head. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Mar 31, 2008 Pours a very nice orange/copper color with a solid inch of frothy off-white head. Great aroma for a belgian, doesn’t kill you with the citrus but rather accentuates the fruity, spicey nature of the beer. Very solid flavor. The body is very creamy, with a sweet caramel and fruit flavor at first that drifts smoothly into a spicey, only slightly alcoholic finish. Hides the ABV well behind the guise of a wine. Pwn3d (1040), Manhattan, New York, USA Mar 31, 2008 Updated: Apr 30, 2008750ml bottle. Off white head over a hazy medium amber body. Nose is ester and yeast. Taste was full and moderately sweet. Very drinkable for a big beer. So damn good. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 31, 2008 Bottle: Poured a light red color with some head present. The aroma was that of oranges and sugar. The flavor was very malty and strong alcohol in the beginning. As this brew warmed up, the other secrets of fruit and spices become more obvious. Overall a decent beer, one that probably does well in the cellar.
