Commercial Description:
A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

750mL bottle. Pours with great head; almost pink with plenty of sediment. Smells of Belgian Wit w/ some wine notes. Front of the mouth Pinot accents very present, overall with sweet wheat predominance. Finishes clean and with alcohol taste; tastes more than 10% but easy to drink.

Pours a strange pinkish color with an off white head. The aroma is sweet with grapes, citrus some wood. The aroma is very wine like. Lots of grape sweetness with definite alcohol presence. Nice finish. Really nice easy drinking beer that chalanges normal beer

What a unique beer! Pours a golden color with some red hues in it. Nose is sweet and malty with a fruity nose and some yeasty. Taste is sweet and mouthfeel is chewy. Really great unique taste and at 10% abv this beer is very drinkable. Another great brew from DFH. There is even a grape and oaky finish on this brew.

Bottle courtesy of Wickedpete: Poured a deep reddish color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing notes. Aroma consists of coriander with some notes of wheat and light acidic touch. Taste is a very good mix between some wheat with great notes of coriander and some sweet malt. Great mix between spices and Belgian style malt. Full body with great carbonation and no alcohol. The only negative things that I have too say is that this beer might be slightly too sweet but apart from that great beer from Dogfish.

Let me start out by saing that I normally don’t like witbiers, that said, I LOVE this brew. Aroma is very flowery with some light citrus hops, lots of coriander and orange peel, some red wine and cinnamon. Pours with a smallish, creamy, off-white head that has decent retention and great lacing. Hazy clarity with medium sized particles floating around. The body is a slightly pink hue that turns orange at the edges. Taste has a long duration, ends a bit salty. Amazing wheat-wine finish (and I am not even the biggest fan of wheat beers). Alcohol presences is heavy and perfect in this beer. Mouthfeel is lightly creamy with some lively bubbles. Great stuff!

Draft at BT. Light copper with a sturdy head. Aroma is fruity apricot and peach with spicy Belgian notes. Flavor has a nice ash dryness to it to go with grape and peach. .
