Pours an odd pinkish orange body, clear, under a fizzy one inch fizzy foamy thick head. Lots of vigorous carbonation. Heavy foamy lacing. Nose is very grapey with lots of oak, heavy yeast influence, heavy syrupy malt, and alcohol vapors. Quite an odd combo. Lots of grapes up front in the flavor too, along with heavy yeast influence. Very sweet throughout but the oakiness adds a touch of dryness on the finish. The alcohol is clearly noticable. The mouthfeel is fairly thick and somewhat syrupy, but isn’t especially cloying because of the super fizzy efforvescent carbonation. Overall, this was OK, but it really didn’t stand out. Interesting concept, not so interesting result. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

They should really stick to IPA’s and Stouts. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Bottle. Body-murky reddish brown with a thin ring of bubbles and very attractive heavy lacing. Nose-cheery Kool-Aid, metal. Taste-plywood, metal, like licking a 2X4, Belgian yeast, Chardonnay, Flintstones vitamins, unsweet brown sugar/molasses, very vinous, medium alcohol,. Berries, white grapes, dusty, raisin plum skin. Interesting but slightly dry and too similar to red wine for me. Like drinking a cheap red whine that was fermented using a classic Abbey yeast out of a raw wood cup. Very well hidden alcohol, cherry, light citric zest, cottony, chocolate baking powder, light butter scotch, maple candy. jujubeast6000 (777), Houston, Texas, USA

Small head, white-reddish, diminishing, decent lacing. Very strong grape aroma, alcohol, musky, woodsy. Good taste, Strong start, clean finish. Some alcohol, dark fruit. Fruity taste. Smooth mouthfeel. A little too dark and heavy for me, but pretty good. Reminiscent of a Belgian or an American Strong. SuzyGreenberg (1324), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 24, 2007 The beer leaves the 750ml bottle a fuzzy incarnadine color with a reddish pink head that crowns the body, lacing provides a tight skirt to surround the glass. Nose has a tart oak like aroma, combined with coriander & orange peel, also hints of red wine and amazingly only very little of the 10 percent ABV shows through. Start is vinous, with a nice bit of toasted grain sweetness, top is light to medium in feel. The finish has a unrelenting acidity, the wine like traits along with the oak make the end sweet and somewhat sour with the parched aftertaste long lasting, another amazing brew tis’ true. layyze (28), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Pours a nice shade of red. Sweet with fruitiness in the aroma. Reminded me somewhat of DFH’s Midas Touch. Sweet in flavor.
