A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

Spice, sour fruit, yeast. Pours cloudy honey gold with bright white foamy head that fades quickly leaving a fair amount of lacing. Medium bodied. Candy sweet juxtaposed with a fruit sourness. Citrus, spice, wine, oak. A nice dry red wine finish with a little warming in the throat.

Pours a hazy orange with white head. Smells orangey upfront following with coriander and vinous notes. Tastes like the typical wit wheat than vinous, oak, sweet, and vanilla. Medium, velvety palate. This was a tasty treat! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nose is vinous with notes of corinander and hints of orange. A beautiful hazy apricot hued pour with a thin lasting white head and thick lacing. The taste is delightful and complex. Vinous, orange, citrus, and some sweetness preceded a dry finish. A nice junction of beer and wine. Medium-light body and champaign like carbonation. Overall, this is a winner! I like the wine character. This and Sixty-one are among my favorite Dogfish Head offerings. Will drink again.

Tap pour. This is a damn fine looking beer. A deep orange-copper color. Solid head. Aroma is whit spices (coriander, mild clove), grapes and a vague booziness. Reserved. Taste runs hot. Bubblegum sweetness off set by the aforementioned spices and a mild raspberry tartness. Lots of Belgium yeast and some wood notes too. A real sipper.

On tap at Abbot’s Cellar during a beer dinner with Sam. This was an aged 2007 vintage. Sublime and complex at the same time. Citrus and deep vanilla and grain marry.

Strong oak characteristics on the nose, followed by banana-like and clove-like esters, some cream/dairy notes. Hazy orange, white head somewhat lasting. Dry, sticky, spicy, some subtle wine notes. Medium bodied.

Bottle sample at a wood-aged beers tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Cloudy orange. Aroma of fruitiness, spices, grains, caramel, wood and alcohol. Sweet flavor, spicy, woody, fruity, alcoholic, with a tart vinous note and a drier, spicier and more alcoholic finish. Medium-bodied, slightly sticky. Not my thing.

This pours a cloudy amber color with a fluffy white head. The aroma is mild with coriander and hints of fermented grapes. The taste is quite smooth and fruity with the nicely blended combination of wine and coriander that delivers a rather interesting taste. Add this to your list of must tries.
