1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA May 16, 2007 2/9/07 vintage. The beer pours to a very nicely carbonated orange-red body with lots of active movement and tiny particulate. A frothy white head sits on top. The aroma is very much like a Belgian witbier. Vibrant coriander, oranges, and wheat... with white grapes. The flavor is wheat, coriander, orange peel... with subtle pinot noir characteristics. The dry woodsy oak comes out nicely. The palate is nicely carbonated, light and dry. 10%? Ha!!! The beer also has a nice velvety texture. ryan (1774), Beltsville, Maryland, USA May 15, 2007 Hazy, reddish body with white head. Aroma is cranberry, coriander and vinous. The flavor is cloves, berry and medicinal. Medium body with a bit of astringency throughout. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 14, 2007 Redish amber color. Smell of spice, wine, fruit, nuts, caramel, cherries and a touch of oak/wood. Taste of tart and sour fruit, malt, toast, burnt wood, citrus, pine, orange zest and spice. Nice but I would drink it again. Alcohol taste comes in a lot also. Thanks to Brewblackhole. RAYBOY01 (1813), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 13, 2007 The pour was a rich red with sweet wine like notes. The flavor was a weird point/counterpoint of sweet and tart. Wine notes intermingle with some typical Belgian spices and yeast, but why really? I was not at all impressed by this one and would have no interest in repeating it. peter (385), Dallas, Texas, USA May 13, 2007 Pinkish pour with some barbie foam party look. The pinot noir is on the nose, and present in the flavour. The oak in this beer reminds me of a very cheap american chardonay, and is somewhat offensive. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 13, 2007 Sampled at the 5th Annual Boulder Strong Ale Fest. Beer is dark, murky brown with a small, frothy/creamy, light brown head.

First impression on the nose is lots of FSA-like sour cherry. It’s malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, biscuit, light notes of caramel and lacto-laden chocolate milk; Hoppy with light-to-moderate notes of resin/pine, trace of lemon zest; Yeasty with a light note of dough and a trace of basement; Light miscellanous notes of vinous sour cherry, creamy Basamic vinegar, chewable Vitamin C tablet and a trace note of warm alcohol.

The flavor is annouced with a big alcohol burn. It’s heavily sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic with a long, warm, lightly bittersweet finish.

The body is full, the texture is syrupy and the carbonation is soft.

Curious and mostly winsome. jon112981 (327), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA May 13, 2007 Tap in MD. Amber/red color with a good spice aroma. Taste is malty for a Belgian but the familiar spices come out. Very nice finish . ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA May 12, 2007 750ml Bottle. Pours out a dark red color with a white head that disappears pretty quick. The actual concept of this beer is really interesting (based on the label). Smells full of fruits and spices. Not much oak or wine detected in the smell. Perhaps some cherry smells? Taste is smooth and kind of wine like (from the pinot), but there is no note of oak or anything as you would think based on the description. Really a unique beer, that proves this brewery is never afraid to go against the norm. I was pretty impressed with this one, just wish it was less than 15 dollars a bottle.
