tomthompson89 (1459), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 7, 2007 Really nice beer, had at a tasting at Churchkey spring reviaval. Good time by the way. pours slightly pink with an orange, definatly seen is the influence of the pinot noir juice and barrels, has some good spicy flavours the booze is well hidden as well. very nice product!!! CigarsLoveBeer (153), Illinois, USA May 6, 2007 Bottle: Ruby body with a very soft looking, rocky, attractive pink head. Aroma is malty, crisp, with heavy grape and citrus notes. Banana and clove like notes present. Just wonderful. In the mouth, this beer starts out very malty for a wit, with clove/banana qualities begging to intrude at midpalate, after which the alcohol starts to show its teeth with apple flavors. The finish shows off a more grape-like quality, present at differing points, but really shows up in the finish. Dry finish still, with some lingering sweet-alcohol bite. Mouthfeel somehow manages to start out crisp, then smooth out towards the end. Very interesting and good. grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA May 6, 2007 Bottle: Nice pour with a moderate head. very nice smell with a hints of fruit. Very enjoyable. Def worth a try patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA May 5, 2007 sampled at the Hampton tasting - Pours a nice red color with a moderate head. It smells of sweet malts, yeast, and maybe some dark fruit. The flavor includes those components and some moderate hops. Enjoyable, but I’d like to try it again when it’s not at the tail end of a long night of beer tasting. Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA May 5, 2007 Bottle: Big orange peel aroma with lots of corriander. The aroma is also lightly vinuous with hints of cherry. It pours a transparent reid with a moderate pinkish-white head with good retention. The flaovr is loaded with orange peel and corriander with just the faintest notes of banana. There is a slight tart vinuous flavor in the background. The finish has a light flowery bitterness. Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA May 5, 2007 Reddish color. Little cloudy. Tart cherryish aroma. More winey flavor and texture than beer. Syrupy, little spicy and slight alcohol flavor too. Good and interesting but too winey and sweet for me. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA May 4, 2007 Bottle. Pours a really gorgeous clear light red with a thin head. Light pomegranite and grape aroma with some vanilla and musty sweetness. Lightly tart with subtle flavors. Mild grape with other vague fruitiness. Nice big body but still rather crisp. Clean spicy, slightly tannic finish. Where it lacks in complexity it makes up for it with a youthful character. Really nice beer. geronimorex (8), Alexandria, Virginia, USA does not count May 3, 2007 I greatly enjoyed this beer, having tried it twice now. I went out and purchased four extras to share with friends -- hopefully will be able to resist opening one and let it age for a few years to see how this tastes in the future. Thanks to the wine that is blended in, it has a very unique taste -- delicate and fruity and cheerful when cold -- more robust and sophisticated as it warms up. Incredibly drinkable, alcohol seems almost completely masked. There is a spice to it I can’t put my finger on, but no matter how you drink it, it is very refreshing and I think would pair well with almost any meal -- from burgers to sushi.
