marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA May 20, 2009 This orange copper ale poured with a massive beige head and a yeasty fruit aroma. There is an interesting flavor that includes typical witbier elements such as coriander and orange peel, as well as lots of sweet caramel malt, finished with some tasty oak. Very unique and delicious. UriahHeep (103), Georgia, USA May 19, 2009 Powerful yeast aroma, citrusy hop character and notes of fruit juice. Poured a deep orange, opaque color - I don’t think I’ve seen a beer with quite this color before. Big white foam head. Huge malt taste, finishes with lots of sweet spices and kick. Like a witbier on steroids. I enjoyed a large bottle of this ale with two of my friends who are both unaccustomed to craft brew, but we all thought this one was to die for! Narnad (681), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA May 18, 2009 2009 Peoria International Beer Fest. Pours a golden orange color with a light head white head. Aroma is very fruity with some light coriander in the background. Beer has a very strong alcohol presence, coriander is a lot lighter in the tasting than in the aroma, fruity notes are apple and peach with a nice sour ending. A pretty good brew but more of a special "in the mood" type beer than an everyday one. jkaiser (219), Orlando, Florida, USA May 18, 2009 This beer is top 5 at beerfest this weekend. I really could taste the wine and orange and coriander. Fantabulous. Damnit Sam you’ve done it again! NJBeerman013 (764), Trenton, New Jersey, USA May 17, 2009 Pours an orangish golden in color with a lively white head. The aroma is mellow, fruity, somewhat oakey. The flavors are sweet, notes of pure sugar, ripe peach, nothing really on the wine note. In all, it is a very tasty, sweet, big belgian ale. HOPSHUNTER (376), Tampa, Florida, USA May 14, 2009 Bottle. Poured a hazy reddish color with almost a purple hue and an off-white head. Sweet vinous nose with some cherry over-tones and light yeast. Flavor is soft wood with some Chardonnay notes. As it warms some light cherry notes become more present. Sweet finish with a good amount of warming alcohol. bp (451), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2009 Bottle: pours a hazy, darker orange with a thin white head, citrus and wheat aroma, taste is citrus, a light spice, some of the oak is present, a bit of a fizzy mouthfeel, refreshing is a good descriptor for this. Bhops (329), Dallas, Texas, USA May 4, 2009 Once I adjusted to this, it was a nice, compelling beer. You can definitely taste the pinot influence. Very fruity and very alcoholic nose. Commercial description is pretty accurate.
