Papsoe (9663), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 26, 2008 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Pours a hazy, reddish amber with a slightly reddish head. Lightly tart aroma also with fruit, yeast, diacetyl and alcohol. Quite full-bodied with sweetish malt and fruity notes - somewhat berry-like. Surprisingly hoppy with a somewhat burning alcohol in the finish. Didn’t really pick up any hints of a Wit in here. 190408
Boliv (137), New York, USA Jul 16, 2008 750mL bottle. Pours cloudy and amber with a small white head. Aroma of orange, grapefruit peel, coriander, yeast, and some sugar cookie. Thick, sticky, sugary sweet mouthfeel with orange and coriander that moves toward a biscuity doughiness before finishing with a tart, alcohol-laden bite. Aftertaste of dried fruit (raisins, apricots). Very interesting brew. I guess I had hoped to detect a bit more of that Pinot Noir...oh well, it’s still good. A tad expensive, but worth it nonetheless. paytoplay (24), , California, USA Jul 13, 2008 My score might be generous. It was an outstanding brew, but the Pinot Noir barrels and fruit could not be detected at all. The oil of an orange is noticed, not sour, strong belgian style but superb balance. Really well made. I could see this aging for quit some time, maybe with age the pinot aspect will outlast the other parts to this brew? It would be awesome if it does. ucusty (803), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 8, 2008 Pour is hazy orange. Dry fruit aroma. Flavor is similar to wine with hints of orange and hops unique beer here not sure if I would buy it again considering its price tag. bunz14 (7), USA does not count Jul 8, 2008 Pours a cloudy orange with a thin white head. A slight, spicy aroma followed by a unique orange/grape flavor with a hint of floral hops. Alcohol is well hidden. A nice cross between wine/beer with the beer being the predominent beverage. Goblincat (326), Westland, Michigan, USA Jul 5, 2008 Pours a cloudy, dirty orange with a thin short lived head. Aroma is nice with orange, spice, and wheat. The taste is a rich spice, clover, and citrus blend, ending with a red wine and warming alcohol finish.
