| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Body is a dark amber, white head. Aroma does have grapes, slightly yeasty, light alcohol, similar to cheap low alcohol wine, but still plesant. Taste is fairly fruity, grapes, dried apricots, some of the spice showing through with alcohol and backend. jeffc666 (1898), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Pink head sits atop a red body, very interesting looking brew. Big coriander citrus rind aroma. The wit aromas are unexpected after seeing the beer. The flavor is sweeter than I expected, very unique mix of Belgian wit and wine. THe body is medium full. The only real complaint I have is that the alcohol comes through a bit too much. iowaherkeye (1893), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2007 750mL, Bottled on 02/12/07. Clear orange red with a one finger off-white head, and fades to a ring. Coriander and grapey notes up front. Pepper, spicy alcohol, and Belgian yeast come next, all in about equal amounts. Hints of dry wood also present. Flavor has pretty much the same characteristics, though in different amounts. Belgian yeast and coriander strongest, pepper and spicy alcohol come next. Dry woody finish with not much in the way of bitterness, and the alcohol is . As this warmed, some fruity caramel malts made themselves apparent. Maybe I suck, but I didn’t really pick up on any red wine. Moderate smooth carbonation with a full body. Pretty good--better than the Black & Blue. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 14, 2007 What an interesting brew! Poured a sharp red (looked sort of like a framboise it was so red) and didn’t show any hazyness until the end of the bottle when I was able to stir it. The head was thick, pink, and creamy. The aroma was sweet, had a definite dryness to it, yeasty sourness. The flavor was warm and dry from alcohol, had a belgian taste to it, and a vinous quality at the end. The palate was dry and warm with the finish heating your entire body. Very glad I had this beer. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours a light copper color with a small white head. Aroma of white grapes, coriander, orange zest, and light fruits. Sweet fruity flavor with corinder, caramel malts, and notes of light oak medium to full bodied with a clean and dry finish. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 1, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours red with a large white head. Aroma of oak, fruit, spices, and pinot noir. The flavor is smooth, carbonated, oak, Pinot noir, fruit, and spices. Good brew. RAYBOY01 (1873), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 13, 2007 The pour was a rich red with sweet wine like notes. The flavor was a weird point/counterpoint of sweet and tart. Wine notes intermingle with some typical Belgian spices and yeast, but why really? I was not at all impressed by this one and would have no interest in repeating it. CharlesDarwin (1873), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Aroma present small phenols over aged wheat, possibly in some sense of a fruit. Pours a fiery bold read, with just off-white head. Flavor comes in an overbearing phenolic, salty rather plastic presentation. Sticky over-alcoholed esters and yeast muddle an other-wise decent beer. DFH residuals make this beer a failure. Pretty gross.
