| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Bright blood red, a bit darker than a rose, dense but quickly thinning pink tinged head. Light wheat banana esters, orange peel, cinnamon, coriander, a bit of pink pepper corn, hints of raspberry. Not thin, but not super heavy, doesn’t come across as syrupy though the carbonation is low. A big sweet wheat with alcohol, oak, and a bit of ctirus rind tartness, not to mention a good dose of light spicing. Pink peppercorns, very light bodied red win, but oaky flavors like a more full bodied red. A dry fruity finish comes out of the sweetness. Alcohol lingers slightly along with the oak. The sweetness not being too full is well balance by the oak and alcohol. For half the price, I could get used to drinking this beer. malrubius (1005), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 24, 2009 750 in Chimay glass. Pinkish amber with ring and a little lace and couple floaters. Boozy woody sweet fruity aroma. Toffee fruity orange cough syrupy with bitter spicy bite and woody bitter mouth-coating syrupy finish. Full body. I’m always afraid of the Dogfish crazy ingredient beers. But in the end, they always taste like beer, just not especially pleasing beer. kidmartinek (1004), austin, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Pours pale light golden. Has the appearance of a scoth malt, small head. Smells like a belgium, citrusy, fruity aroma. Syrupy mouthfeel, corriander dominates the flavor. Hot finish, mild carbnation if any. Rich finish. Light oak aftertaste Arayaga2 (1001), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2007 Beautiful headless red with a sour vineous aroma and only a hint of sweetness or spice. Taste is heavily alcoholic and dry to the finish with definite winey elements which overshadow the beery aspects of this beverage. $10/750ml sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 20, 2007 Updated: Apr 21, 2007this is actually pretty cool though it’s a little one dimensional. pour is clear. the entire bottle is clear. for some reason DFH is not bottle conditioning anything anymore. i guess they’re too big for it. color is basically a honkers ale. aroma IS orange peels but i also get apple rinds. there’s alcohol and definitely a little alcohol. flavor is really winey and not terribly belgian whitish. but it’s really cool. i’ll rebuy this and rerate it paying more attention. 3.8 works. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Rusty red, beautiful and unique fiery orange-red. White head recedes to a long-lasting crown. Smells of coriander, fermented corn, and dried orange peel. Taste is sweet, tangy and dry/bitter from the coriander. Simple, but elegant, not a ton of flavors working here. Just a crisp, direct belgian beer that pleasantly, is not overspiced. MadIndian (997), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Bottle: Murky dark gold color with a white head that lasts for about 3-5 minutes. The aromas are rich and tangy. You can definitely sense the coriander and orange zest. The flavor is powerful in that you can detect the 10%, but it is also smooth and full of flavor. I kind of expected way more of a wine flavor. I could taste the high yeast from the Belgian style. Oak was a definite presence and seemed to mellow out the flavors making it close to perfect.
