At first didn’t pour much of a head till I poured straight down the middle of the glass. Then the head formed, but fell fairly quickly. Body color is orange with a hint of red to it. Good Belgian Strong aroma with ever so slight hint of the pinot. Clear body from sitting in my fridge all these months. Light oakiness from the barrels present. Body is thicker than average. Corriander lingers on the pallate. Warming in the throat. Not much sludge at the bottom of the bottle. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2007 Ok, I get the Red and White now. Light puce amber color with a moderate off pink head. Fairly stable couple of centimeters of foam forming a lid. with light ring a lace in the wake of each sip. Floral soap aromas with hints of coriander. As it sets some fresh berry scent come out. A dichotomy of scents, there are some that I enjoy, with hints of wheat and spice; and then some seem to remind me of a cheap berry wine. While not present in the aroma, the strength does come out after a few quaffs with a mild flame and spice in the finish. Start does have a light sweet wheat and spice quality, quite typical of a wit. The middle kicks in and suddenly there is a burst of grapes and berries, there is even a light malt liquor quality (that corn/grain sweetness presence). Finish as stated prior has a certain spiciness and bitterness. Yes, orange rinds do seem to be in the forefront. LInger is rather dry with a gentle return to some malt and wheat. It’s odd, I shared my first bottle of this with some friend the other night and without thinking about rating, thought higher of this one. Perhaps my rating should be higher, or perhaps lower, as I maybe tempering this rating with my prior thought. Hell I don’t know. Either way, I enjoyed the experience. I think I thought about this one too much. MrManning (1662), London, Ontario, Canada

Lots of oaky fruit in the nose. Pretty yeasty with some barnyard funk. Fairly earthy. Flavours are a touch medicinal, lots of oak and weird fruit flavours and a tonne of funky grassy notes. Pretty good, but this one creeps up on ya! Thanks Tim! Optigon (562), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2007 Bottle: Big orange peel aroma with lots of corriander. The aroma is also lightly vinuous with hints of cherry. It pours a transparent reid with a moderate pinkish-white head with good retention. The flaovr is loaded with orange peel and corriander with just the faintest notes of banana. There is a slight tart vinuous flavor in the background. The finish has a light flowery bitterness. Lightly tart aroma also with fruit, yeast, diacetyl and alcohol. Quite full-bodied with sweetish malt and fruity notes - somewhat berry-like. Surprisingly hoppy with a somewhat burning alcohol in the finish. Didn’t really pick up any hints of a Wit in here. 190408 pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Bottle: Murky dark gold color with a white head that lasts for about 3-5 minutes. The aromas are rich and tangy. You can definitely sense the coriander and orange zest. The flavor is powerful in that you can detect the 10%, but it is also smooth and full of flavor. I kind of expected way more of a wine flavor. I could taste the high yeast from the Belgian style. Oak was a definite presence and seemed to mellow out the flavors making it close to perfect. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Mar. 2007 - Beer poured dark amber color, beautiful fluffy head and ok lacing. Aroma was strong wheat. Flavor was wheat, some spices and some sweet malts and fruitiness and an odd bitter/sour soapy flavor. Very wine-like in its flavor. Too sweet and the "soapy" weird flavor put me off a bit. Mouthfeel, aroma and appearance were great and the flavor was "good". Weird beer...never woulda guessed it was 12%.
