Feb ’07 bottle shared by Jason. Clear red-hued amber body under a small white head. Woody, dark spicy aroma with a clear grape influence. Pretty similar flavor but with a noticeable alcohol bite. There’s a lot going on here but it’s nothing compelling. I’d peg this not as a train wreck of flavor but perhaps a fender bender of flavor.

Sep 5, 2008 Pours a decent hazy apreicot hue with a decent off white head. The nose is all kinds of sugars and a touch of yeast. The flavor goes way sweet with honey and too much sugar, even for my sweet tooth.

Fruity aroma with a lot of grape, a bit of coriander and other vague herbal notes. Medium bodied. Flavours of fruit and cream, with hints of wood and wine, and a mildly herbal finish. Didn’t wow me, but still quite tasty.

Aug 31, 2008 Bottled. A hazy ddep red beer with a small amount of yeast sediment floating around under a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of cherries as well as lighter notes of almond. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries, almonds, and alcohol on a light malty background, but also with hints of acidity. The mouthfeel is quite sparkling.

Aug 29, 2008 pours clouds with little bits floating around. Huge head. Smells sweet of belgian but hints of wine. Taste is oak up front giving in to a light red taste. Little spices and alcoholic finish. I can taste the oak. This is a excellent balance between beer and wine. This has a lot going on and could turn a couple wine snob heads. Highly recommended!
