Commercial Description:
A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

dark brown ruby, low head. Nicely carbonated. Flavor of malt, dark fruit, raisons, dates, alcohol on the back end. Thick and a bit syrupy. I liked this one, it was a bit unusual.

Pours a cloudy, dirty orange with a thin short lived head. Aroma is nice with orange, spice, and wheat. The taste is a rich spice, clover, and citrus blend, ending with a red wine and warming alcohol finish.

Pours a cloudy auburn color with a small, foamy, off-white head. Wet, soapy lacing mostly rejoins the body. The aroma is laden with fruit, candied orange peel, caramelized nectarine, and red grapes all coming to mind. The fruits are layered with notes of candy sugar, ginger, coriander, and floral hops. Flavors lean towards the sweet side, with all the sugary malts and fruits overpowering the delicate, lightly spicy, floral hops. The coriander is not overdone, which I appreciate. Orange peel really exerts itself as a prominent factor, and the mintiness of the ginger is not to be ignored. If there is a major flaw, it is the sticky, sweet body. Though the 10% ABV is well hidden, the palate does get to be a little cloying and heavy over time. Overall, another very solid and unique offering from a very creative brewery.

75cl bottle shared with husband on the 4th. Very refreshing during the hot summer. Only a little hint of the 10 ABV and then only as it warms. Looked and smelled like a normal Belgian with hints of sour cherries (no real red tint to the normal cloudy yellow pour). Nice dry finish. In case you’re worried, it tasted a lot more like beer than wine. Great, unique brew.

Deep amber pour with off white head and lace. Aroma of bread and citrus and fruit. Flavor is a sweet thick rich combination of apple/grape juice with a very warm finish. It almost tastes like it has a hint of cherry to me as well. Mouthfeel is solid and carbonation is good. Gets a little more abv as it warms. Very nice to me so far:)

Tart almost taniny flavor followed by sour yeasty flavor of a belgian. Nice crisp texture small head and reddish color. Leaves a slightly bubbly sensation on the tongue and its gone... There is a alot to this beer. Very sophisticated, but a little bit dry for me.
