GregClow (2332), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 1, 2008 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, tupalev, jerc & garthicus - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Hazy red with a small off-white head. Fruity aroma with a lot of grape, a bit of coriander and other vague herbal notes. Medium bodied. Flavours of fruit and cream, with hints of wood and wine, and a mildly herbal finish. Didn’t wow me, but still quite tasty. CaptBier (252), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottled. A hazy ddep red beer with a small amount of yeast sediment floating around under a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of cherries as well as lighter notes of almond. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries, almonds, and alcohol on a light malty background, but also with hints of acidity. The mouthfeel is quite sparkling. Sleeper (50), Washington, USA Aug 29, 2008 pours clouds with little bits floating around. Huge head. Smells sweet of belgian but hints of wine. Taste is oak up front giving in to a light red taste. Little spices and alcoholic finish. I can taste the oak. This is a excellent balance between beer and wine. This has a lot going on and could turn a couple wine snob heads. Highly recommended! garthicus (550), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 27, 2008 Shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, Tupalev,Jerc & Blankboy -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Appearance: Rose with small red flecks floating around in there! Aroma: Cherry and lemon. Flavour: Salty, sour and sweet all at the same time. Not bad at all. DuffMan (1939), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Aug 24, 2008 Red-orange amber, colloidal yeast, huge white foamy head. Sweet aroma, fruity (cherries?), with some alcohol. Very sweet palate, lots of malt with a berry-cherry fruitiness, some spice, and a dry finish. The alcohol is a warming presence in the finish without being intrusive or harsh.
