3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
As I walk into the forrest, rich with juniper, I breathe deeply of the earth, wet, pungent, sweet...with that harsh balance of nature and ancient history. I awake from this vision holding a beer whose aroma has taken me someplace so temporally remote...another sip...donning amber, it tastes of pepper and chai tea, cardamom and grass. The finish is nearly sweet and leaves me feeling adventurous...ready to explore the rest of the vast wilderness of yore!

Pours a nice copper to brownish color. big frothy head that’s stays for a long time. Smell like tea, very malty and with a Suttle feel as a Weis. The Chai and berries gives it a nice touch.

Great flavor with a chai tea kick that brings the flavor with a smooth bang. One of the best Dogfish Head beers yet.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted on 1/3/12 from a capped 750mL bottle. Pours hazy brassy golden with an average white head that leaves thin lacing. The nose is dominated by chai tea, with caramel malt and some cardamom spice. The flavor is quite sweet with tons of caramel and chai with some herbal bitterness. The body is medium and oily with light carbonation and a long caramel chai finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It’s strong, spicy, floral, sweet, kind of malty, with hints of tea. It is a good fermented beverage, just not my style, too spicy and fenolic.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"9% abv (not 6) so there is a kick. hazy tan-orange color. aroma is wonderful*. it’s been chilly here for the last few days and this would fit perfect as a late fall or winter seasonal. one taster said it smells like Christmas. The * is that wonderful in this sense is a well blended chai tea. if you’re a sucker for chai tea like me, you’ll love this beer. if not, there’s really no reason to drink a chai tea beer! body is full and feel is pretty smooth. flavor is great...black tea, spices, juniper, malt, yeast. very very good with a lasting impression. i wish this were more easily available."
