Commercial Description:
A modern update on a 9th century Finnish proto-beer. Brewed with rye, we caramelize the wort with white hot river rocks, then ferment it with a German Weizen yeast. In addition to juniper berries foraged directly from the Finnish country-side we added a sort of tea made with coriander, cardamom, lemon grass, Indian Black Tea, and ramps leaves. The spicing is subtle and balanced and Sahtea is a highly-quaffable, truly-unique brew with a full-mouth feel.

In short: A fruity, herbal and spicy bear with a lot of tea. Original and interesting but not very good.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed relatively fresh about 4 months after purchase.
The look: Almost clear golden body topped by a medium white head with low retention
In long: Nose of sweet fruity dessert, herbs, tea, cheap perfume. Taste is moderate fruity and has more than the advertised juniper berries (I noted mangos, juniper, apples, some orange), soap, camomile, lots of herbal tea, scented flowers, some coriander. This is an original brew and the first half of the first glass was fun, but it really got annoying after a while, and finishing my 750ml was a chore. Fortunately the beer is not very tasty because what it tastes does not do it for me. This is an original tea brew and it might please some people but it didn’t really work for me. Not my cup of tea, pun intended.
