2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours beautifully, and finishes much too sweet. Very much like chai tea. I enjoy chai, but not in a beer. I don’t know why I keep trying strange beers, when I simply like beer. Beer of all normal styles. Rarely does an attempt like this please me. Can’t blame Dogfish Head for trying though.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It’s strong, spicy, floral, sweet, kind of malty, with hints of tea. It is a good fermented beverage, just not my style, too spicy and fenolic.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"9% abv (not 6) so there is a kick. hazy tan-orange color. aroma is wonderful*. it’s been chilly here for the last few days and this would fit perfect as a late fall or winter seasonal. one taster said it smells like Christmas. The * is that wonderful in this sense is a well blended chai tea. if you’re a sucker for chai tea like me, you’ll love this beer. if not, there’s really no reason to drink a chai tea beer! body is full and feel is pretty smooth. flavor is great...black tea, spices, juniper, malt, yeast. very very good with a lasting impression. i wish this were more easily available."

Pours a light amber with a white foam head. Aroma is chai tea and berries. Flavor is the same, sweet, with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Very easy to drink and delicious.

Really good stuff, but you can’t call it "subtle and balanced." Turns out, I like not subtle and unbalanced. You get a big dose of spiced tea, then hints of lemon, spicy rye, and finally banana esters. Very unbeerlike. The alcohol content, 9%, is definitely subtle. Happy I can’t taste the ramps.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloves and bananas in this pale orangeish hazy brew with a small white head of tiny bubbles. I get a spicy flavor much like the aroma with a christmas flavor a medium body and decent carb.
