Beautiful look and smell to this beer. Tasty, but nothing stellar. Maybe I’ve just come to expect more from Dogfish Head. Maybe this isn’t that good a beer...

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a cloudy sparkling amber with an average size frothy tan head. Looks really good. Aroma of sweet malt and floral hops. Flavour of malt, hops and citrus isn’t hoppy enough -- in fact as it gets warmer it gets sweeter. Light bitter finish.

A favorite from years ago that Dogfish discontinued which was disappointing. I remember being at the Rehoboth brew pub one winter and the bartender said “we discontinued it.” I was ecstatic to hear they brought it back for a limited run.
Golden color with a nice head that stuck around for a while. Pale ale nose to hit, weak smell. Not a lot of hop flavor, mellow and well balanced. More malt flavor on this then I normally like but again, balanced, not very sweet on the palate.

had on tap at Rehoboth beach...a very well balanced, aromatic pale ale. easy drinking, but still somewhat complex for the style. not a west coast, but has a nice hop profile atop a malty sweet backbone. good stuff."

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer has a nice copper, amber color to it with a very nice off white head the laces very well to the glass. The smell is okay, it is very mild with a very earthy, mild citrus scent to it. I was expecting more from a pale ale. The taste comes out of no where with a great SMOOTHE blend of malt, mild hops, and yeast flavors. It was extremely smoothe that I had to ask the bartender if it was a nitro beer. The taste was completely unexpected and very good. The mouthfeel afterwards left you with a creamy, malty, mildly bitter taste. Overall, this beer was very interesting and did not follow the typical Pale Ale characterisitics, which was a nice change.

March 2010. From bottle. Orange amber color with malt, caramel and floral aromas. A bit thin and bland. I would expect more from DFH.

On tap at Rohobeth brew pub. Pours a clear golden copper color with thin creamy head. Aroma is a little fruity and malty, no hop presence. Taste is malty with slight hoppiness. A good simple beer.

Draft at DFH alehouse. Copper/brown with light head. Nicely balanced hops and malt. An above-average middle of the road ale. Drinkable but forgettable.

On draft at the Gaithersburg brew house. Pours a clear gold with a thick white head. Mildly spicy nose. Very thin mouthfeel. Not one of DFHs most memorable brews.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
It pours a nice copper with a thick white head that leaves moderate lacing. The aroma is rather bland with nothing at all really standing out. The taste is clean but fairly watery. Very un-DFH like. Dull & uninteresting. Bleh.
