Great ruby color and medium white head. A slight aroma of grape but only slight sweetness. Harkens back to 60.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Faintly resinous hops aroma that is mostly pine, followed by a sour, almost lactic vinous note and then non-phenolic black pepper. Pretty much clear bronze-pink under a lasting light pink cover. Hops flavour up front complemented quickly by sweet, caramely malt. The hops are strawberry and pine with a tiny bit of citrus. A sour, vinous flavour is present, but not overwhelming. As I get through the glass, the grape notes become more noticeable and pleasant. Medium body, medium carbonation, moderate bitterness transcends.

I've been wanting to try this since I first read about it. It smells and tastes like Dogfish 60, which is to say a solid IPA with nice balance, except there's something more. The jammy dark fruit and leather flavors of a syrah mingle with, but do not overpower the IPA flavor. It's unusual, but in a good way.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Dodgrblu. Aroma is of grape must and toasted malts, some grassy hops. Flavor is mostly the same, somewhat tart. Not sure what this is trying to be, but it has something to it. Good beer.

Aromas are a mix between an IPA and a rose wine. Hints of red fruits and caramel malts.
Taste is also a blend of ipa and wine. Very strange combination and im not really sure that i like it

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice amber/ruby color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of nice floral hops, pine, & some citrus/fruit; Flavor of malt, hops, caramel, citrus, and light grape notes; Finish is slightly bitter and somewhat tart; Decent aroma - but flavor gets lost in translation.

12 oz - one could definitely sense the wine presence on the nose and in the color. The back and definitely show the wine, but there wasn?t really enough of a difference between this and any other IPA. Unique in its own way and worth a try, but not calling me back.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours light pink rouge with a very, exceptionally pale pink head. Smells mildly hoppy and a little fruity. Taste is bitter and fruity like a subtle wine. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Dogfish Head Sixty-one finishes with a light fruitiness.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2013 Reddish brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of syrah, grape, pine, caramel, and light floral hops. Taste of citrus, dark fruits, pine, grass, and grapefruit.
