3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Beer Run. Pours a medium clear red, lightly pink head. Rather distracting in the sense that you look at it expecting something syrupy and fruity, and then you sniff it and get pure pale ale. Nose is citrus and pine hops. Flavor is a match - crackery malt, followed by bitter hops of grapefruit and pine. Lurking on the finish is an interesting feature of slightly fruity off dry grape. Just a touch, but present. Interesting, although Iím not sure all the flavors really hung together perfectly. I think grape works better in Belgian styles than IPAís.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear reddish in color... Aroma of grape must and light citrus hops... Flavor is sweet grape, fruity up front with mild hop character and lightly bitter finish... Fairly mild ipa, grape must goes a long way...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a medium off-white head. Aroma of grassy hop, dankness and some fruit. Malty flavor with some grape and a grassy hop finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cool.
Aroma: Pretty mild hop profile. Thereís definitely a little something else going on, but it is very subtle.
Appearance: This beer is pink! When itís in the glass it looks like a red amber, but while pouring, it looks pink. Also, the head, while itís still around, is a pinkish white. Points for blowing my mind.
Taste: Hm. Nice hop profile on arrival, and slowly transitions to.... A barely there red-winey flavor on the back of the tongue. Perhaps I need to drink it warmer? Perhaps my palate isnít sensitive enough? Perhaps the syrah flavor I was expecting just isnít that strong. Hm.
Palate: Light-medium body. Decent finish.
Overall: I think this beer was an interesting idea, but could have been executed better. Granted, I am not a brewer. I love what Dogfish Head puts out. I donít have any constructive feedback or suggestions, because I donít have any experience with brewing. I just was expecting a little more of that syrah flavor. Different people have different tastes though, and that is ok.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Coleís in Buffalo. Pours hazy golden amber colour. Didnít know what to expect with this one but didnít at all seem like an IPA. Aroma was sweet and couldnít really tell there were traditional hops in there. Taste had some spiced wine notes.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Full Throttle Bottles in Seattle... Poured deep amber/reddish with a thick pouring eggy, white head. Nice retention and lacing. Bitter and hoppy with dark fruits and esters. Mildly medicinal with some grape juice tones. Caramel malty tones and sweetness to balance all of the bitterness. Fruity, dark fruit finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Everyone has been telling me this sucks but I tried it and its not bad. Grapey aroma, flavor is a bit weaker, caramel malts and grape. It is unique.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip.
A: Pours a crystal-clear reddish color. The head is a one finger white shade. I love the look and the texture of the head, in particular.
S: There is a shit ton of earthy mustiness to this one - okay, itís not the freshest bottle by any stretch, but the hops are damn near nonexistent. Unsweetened grape, caramel, and toffee notes round out the mediocre aroma.
T: At first, it drinks much like 60 Minute, with its malty opening giving way to a vaguely citrusy midpoint. Itís the finish that ruins things, offering far too much musty sourness. Every once in a while, I notice a vinous tone on the aftertaste that I enjoy, but this is a mess otherwise.
M: Sweet and a bit heavy. The vinous notes try to cleanse the palate, but instead only create astringency. I donít think its undrinkable, but there are too many conflicting qualities in both the flavor and the palate to make it
O: This offering is proof positive that gimmicky and innovative are two entirely different beasts altogether - and this is most certainly the former. Itís basically 60 Minute crossed with a crappy wine. Címon, Dogfish Head, less gimmicky nonsense and more quality offerings!

It pours purple! Awesome Small to medium sized reddish purple head. Must be the grapes, eh? Smells of grapes and hops. Taste is similar to what I just said. This beer surprised me with its goodness.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Wow am I glad I only bought a single bottle. Nice looking pour with fast fizzy head. Sort of purple amber look. Smell is round and not much hops. Taste is dominantly red win ish with round malt profile being dominant. Not much else going on.
