I appreciate dogfish trying to do something different than just another regular ipa, just wish their beers weren’t so pricey. Purple color is interesting, definitely good grape presense, more so than other beers breweed with fruit. I think it could make a goo session ale.

Tap @ Mellow Mushroom. Blush color light lacing. A light peppery dank bitterness. Not as hoppy as 60 min. A little grainy. A tad sour. Meh.

Amber color with a beige head. The aroma contains some citrus, caramel, grapes, and herbal notes. The flavor is somewhat bitter but mostly sour with some citrus lots of lemons, caramel, and a bit of sour apples and grapes. The aftertaste is a bit dry and sour. Overall this is a typical malty east coast IPA from Dogfish Head with a bit of sour thrown in. Its confused am I an IPA or a sour? Its neither. Its not bad but nothing I say seek out.

I actually prefer this to the regular 60-minute IPA. Pours a dark, reddish-amber, with smallish head. Aroma is fruity-grape. Flavor is grassy, with some muted fruit. It’s not all that great, but ultimately, not that bad, either.

Pours a hazy reddish/pink amber color with a medium off white head. The aroma is very different than the normal 60 min ipa, the grape is very prevalent. The taste is rather sweet. There is definitely a grape fruitiness but not overpowering and a slight citrusy taste as well. There is a slight hop bitterness but, once again, not as much as the traditional 60 min ipa. Overall, this is not a bad beer by any means but the original is superior in my opinion. This beer would be great for wine drinkers starting into beer.

[5903-20131010] bottle. Musty grape skins and grainy wood aroma. Clear, pale red pink body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Bitter woody grape flavour has a long bitter aftertaste. Medium body is quite bitter. Really interesting. (7/3/7/4/15) 3.6

Pours a thin head on a rose colored body. Pretty. The aroma is pine and lots of ripe grapes. Interesting. The taste is nice at first, mild grape sweetness with just a little bitterness, then the pine and lemon bitterness take over the middle to end. It’s a bit of an assault. The texture is crisp and fizzy. Worth trying but not my style.

Bottle from Winooski Beverage Warehouse. Aroma: grapefruit, caramel, wine? App: clear red with small white head and some lacing. Taste and palate: light body and light-medium carbonation, light sweetness with dry fruity finish. A tad sour too. Overall: not too sure about this one...am I drinking wine or beer? Mixed feelings
