COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the season of over-hopped amber ales, Dogfish Head has released Snowblower, an elegant Belgian Golden ale. Brewed with French pilsner, vienna and munich malts, and fermented with our house Belgian ale strain, Snowblower is a refreshing alternative.

Candy sugar, mollasses, burnt brown sugar...not bad , but nothing very exciting. Some dried fruit notes. Drinkable but unimpressive.

Fairly one dimensional for DFH, but tasty. It’s all sweet malt, candy, and dark brown sugar - nose and taste. Syrupy to drink, there’s a slight alcohol kick in the finish, although this doesn’t have a particularly high ABV.

Tap....sweet aroma off the bat, fading into a somewhat subtle complexity of some good malty flavors, but lacked any true depth that would set it apart. Tasted a lot more like scotch ales I’ve had, over a true Belgian style

Nothing assertive with this one. Flavor is mostly sweet, with a candied sugar flavor dominating. A bit of a spicy, peppery flavor right at the end. ABV is well hidden.

On tap in the brewpub in Rehoboth. This reminded me of a toned down version of the Raison d’Etre. If I had to depend on this for a reason to be, though, some days would be iffy. Not very complex, especially for an attempted Belgian, but all in all a very drinkable beer.

Not a bad stab at a Belgian style, but definitely lacking complexity. Very light and drinkable.

Just plain disappointed in this one. I thought my beer might have been bad, but it seems everyone else had the same sort of experience.

On draught at Delaney’s in New Haven. Pours light and clear. Taste is on the watery side with a light hoppy taste. Not what I was expecting. This brewer can and has done much better in the past.

Light and refreshing, but not what I expected out of a belgian style ale. Clean at first, some hops and bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall, not as good as I was hoping it would be.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2006 Sampled on draft at D’s in Pittsburgh this beer poured a deep amber color with a small white head. There was a light aroma of yeast and hops. Reasonably thick mouthfeel. Light malt, a bit sweet and light hops. Not a whole lot of character to this one. Decent but uninspired.
