COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION A German-style Hefeweizen brewed with German wheat malt and pilsner malt.
This brew is the brainchild of Dogfish brewer Jesse Prall, brewed in commemoration of the recent birth of his son.
For the beer, Jesse used a Bavarian wheat yeast. The beer is a golden orange, with hints of clove and banana, an unfiltered ale. Son’s Love Hefe is hopped with Amarillo and Vanguard hops.
Son’s Love Hefe had an original gravity of 15 and a ABV of 5%.
On tap @ Rehoboth Brewpub-cloudy golden pour w/a slight white head. Dry, spiced aroma. Flavors of dry wheat, orange, clove, banana, maybe a little grass/hay. Smooth easy drinking drew, not really complex, but enjoyable. Kind of a basic Hefe, but a solid one.
