Pours a clear golden color with one finger head that leaves moderate lacing. Aroma of toasted malt, yeast, pepper, spice, chamomile. Hint of herbal hop with moderate carbonation, medium to full body. Not sweet, mildly bitter, a mildly sour perhaps a little salty. Medium finish. This is enjoyable and drinkable.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, 75cl. An almost clear one, golden in color and with a white head. Spiced aroma with some cellar notes and dried fruits. Berry hints, Medium to full body, very soft on the palate. Some tea hints. The flavor has pale malt notes, dried fruits and tea. Herbs. Well, itís interesting, thatís for sure, but itís definitely not my kind of beer, sort of blending good and bad beer. 130804

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark clear orange pour some head. Aroma of dough, sesame, grapes, date sugar. Tastes very wheaty, cinnamon raisin bread. Bold flavors that Iíd usually expect to find in a dubbel or quad are present, but lightly applied in this very refined brew. Palate is full and smooth and quickly recedes like oatmeal, but the effervescence and regular abv make it quite refreshing. Aftertaste of honey, date sugar, and savory spice. Underrated.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma, honey, and fruit in the aroma. Flavor is sweet with fruit and cinnamon, with more of the same in the finish. Interesting concept, but really nothing special.

Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is earthy and lots of chamomile. Taste is spicy with some sweet undertones, very interesting as it is almost tangy. Light bodied with a slick texture. Interesting, very strong on the chamomile.

25.8 oz bottle - pours goldish-orange with diminishing medium white head. Strong sweet fruit aromas on the nose, plums, apricots, and bready yeasty notes. Little bit of clove. Sweet malt. Medium-full bodied. Definitely strangish. Not a returner.

Was super excited to find this beer in the summer of 2012 while on vacation in Virginia. Split the 750ml bottle with friends. Very different brew, but thatís what the boys at DFH do.
