3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On Tap at Patrickís Kitchen in Zionsville, Indiana. I had never heard of this brew but am always intrigued by a Dogfish - 3F collaboration. Reddish nut brown colour and yeasty, spicy aroma. Spicy taste (cardamom?) along with belgian yeast, and very strong bourbon flavor. Reminded me of drinking brandy. Iím not sure how closely this matches to the Belgian Strong Ale style, but I liked the idea. Sweet, spice, yeast, and of course some bourbon.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle shared at Daveís tasting. Pours a hazy golden orange with a linen white head. Pleasant aroma of Belgian yeast and honey. Iím not really picking up the cardamom in the nose. The flavor is Belgian yeast with a bit of honey, malt, and some cardamom. Mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, golden hazy pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of lots of cardamom, hints of white fruits, lots of biscuit, bread and honey-like sugars, hints of vanilla in there as well, some sugary brandy as well, the age has treated this well. Taste is a sweet mix of oak, vanilla, and brandy into slight cardamom, hints of earth, biscuit, slight grassy note into some white fruits, finishing fairly sweet.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
750ml bottle via trade. Poured a hazy orange body with a smaller foamy white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, honey sweetness, cardamom and a super light touch of vanilla. Medium bodied with average carbonation and an average duration on the aftertaste. Flavor of cardamom, Belgian yeast, honey, sugar, flowers and dry toast. Thought this was an American Strong Ale for some reason until my first sniff, and that thought quickly left my mind.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from 750ml. bomber. Appearance is a cloudy, golden color with loads of suspended particles, topped with an off-white head. The nose hits with the aroma of cardamom and sour apples. Taste follows the nose, cardamom up front, sour apples and berries in the background. Finishes moderately dry with the alcohol. Ver nice!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle into a DFH signature glass. Bottled in 2010E. Thanks so much HopsMatt!
A - Pours a crystal clear golden amber color with rising carbonation. Two fingers of soapy off white foam forms. Leaves behind a nice thick edging and a thin cap. Swirling creates a new beautiful cap and sticky lacing coats the walls of the glass.
S - Starts off very herbal and floral. This fades into some ginger, coriander, lemon peel, and caramel biscuits . Very spicy with just a touch of sweetness. An odd aroma on the finish that is a bit offensive. Complex and interesting.
T - Cardamon, Belgian yeast, banana, cloves, and spice. Lingering ginger flavor. Canít say I detect any brandy notes, but the alcohol sure does warm things up on the finish. Very tasty.
M - Medium bodied and well carbonated. The finish is somewhat dry which works well with the ginger. Comes off like a Belgian inspired ginger ale.
O - A lovely beer that I honestly wasnít expecting too much from. Its held up very well to the age, although I can only see it going downhill from here. Iíve had the FFF Popskull in the past and I remember liking that one. Curious how that one has held up.
