2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2014 From bottle. Pours a clean, amber blonde. Not a lot of head. Huh. Smells like strawberry shortcake. Sweet. Taste is cloying. Lots of strawberries. Mild tartness. A little woody, if you really try to focus beyond the berry notes. Syrupy. Drinkable, just not all that enjoyable. What was this?

Catching up on some old ratings from Untappd -- First rated on 13 July 2013. Not usually a fan of fruit beers, but this one is quite good.

Predominately strawberries with some yeast. Pours clear cidery gold with a thin quickly fading bright white head. Tastes like a combination of Hawaiian Punch and old woman make-up. Not bad enough to pour out but I won't be finishing the four pack.

Single bottle $2.29 from Kroger, Bridge St. Horribly fizzy, instantly disappearing tan head; copper pour. Aroma sweet, molasses, syrup, tangy, butterscotch. Flavor... ew. It’s starts of a little cider-like, but the flavor is just plain odd; tangy, molasses. Thin body. Not a fan of this at all.

Im glad I'm not gluten intolerant, its a decent try to make an interesting beer but its just not that good, too fruity and overly crisp, not for me

Bottle. Light amber pour with a bit of white head. Berries, honey, syrup, wheat. Body is boring. Light body with short finish. Not excited about this

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle poured a very light amber color with a ring of white head on the glass. Aroma has berry, malt, and grains. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation medium low. Flavor has berry but it is not very pleasant mixed in with the honey and grains. Not my cup of tea.

June 1st, 2012 - I was a little shocked to pull up the Ratebeer profile on Dogfish Head’s Tweason’Ale, only to discover that it had been roundly thrashed by reviewers. Dogfish Head has both its fans and its critics, but a weighted average of 2.59 seemed something more of a condemnation than a nuanced appraisal of a creative beer. What explained this pan-community beer crusade against the Tweason? Before reviewing the reviews, I decided to practice an attempt at unbiased evaluation based on my notes. The smell, according to my notes, is deeply fruity, and practically dripping with strawberry and the deep flavor of artificial cherry flavors, often found in candies and pastries. The flavor is more balanced, with a soda like consistency (blech) and a short aftertaste. The very beginning of the sip exhibits a heavy hit of the freshest strawberry flavor I’ve ever encountered in a beer, but the rest is wanting. So, how did my notes compare with the Ratebeer hive mind? Well, I guess this is sorghum beer. Discrimination against this class of brew might explain part of it. Others thought it was boring (I agree) and some saw it as a novel experiment, but one not destined to be repeated. Fair enough.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale amber pour. Nose of strawberry with light cream/vanilla, and a bit of wet musty maltiness. Flavor is light strawberry with hint of vanilla sweetness that ends with some watery tart green apple and wet malt. Clean. A touch medicinal. Not nearly as bad as what I was expecting from the reviews. A decent sorghum beer.
