COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tweason’ale is a beer we brewed on the cusp of summer. It is a gluten-free sorghum based beer brewed with fresh strawberries from our friends at Fifer Orchards near Dover, Delaware. For the sorghum, we sourced a dark, sweet, syrup with notes of molasses and pit-fruit. We also used a a dark buckwheat honey with a beautiful hay-like, earthy-malty thing that we felt added the final touch to this Tweason’ale recipe.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled on 4/4/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger foamy white head with poor retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of huge honey, tart strawberry, apple cider, pear, light caramel, light bread, and a touch of raspberry. Very nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of honey, strawberry, pear, apple cider, wheat, floral, herbal, earth, and light tart raspberry. Zero bitterness; with lingering notes of honey, strawberry, pear, apple, raspberry, and herbal on the finish for a short bit. Good flavor balance, with a fair amount of flavors and decent complexity; quite dry on the finish with zero cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly syrupy and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a pretty nice gluten free sorghum beer. A fair amount of nice flavors with decent balance; and extremely smooth to drink. This was pretty enjoyable stuff.

A sweet strawberry and slight tart aroma come from this crystal clear orabde brew with no head. It is light bodied crisp and tart with a sweet aftertaste. Not bad for a sour ale.

I know that I’m departing from most other reviewers in giving this beer a very good rating, but I think that it deserves the good rating if, and only if, you approach the beer as if it’s not beer but some kind of hybrid beverage. There’s little to no head and lacing; it’s highly carbonated; it pours a grapefruit orange; it smells sweet and citrusy; and it tastes like honey, strawberries, and tropical fruit. This makes for kind of an awful beer, but it makes for a wonderful brunch cocktail-like drink. If you don’t think of this as beer, you’ll like it. Otherwise, it really is a rotten beer.

bottle - Pours clear gold with a small white head. It smells of honey and strawberries. The flavor is sweet with honey, berries, and sugar. It has a thin body and is underwhelming. Sadly I still have to recommend wine to the gluten intolerant though this is better than most gluten free beers.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2014 From bottle. Pours a clean, amber blonde. Not a lot of head. Huh. Smells like strawberry shortcake. Sweet. Taste is cloying. Lots of strawberries. Mild tartness. A little woody, if you really try to focus beyond the berry notes. Syrupy. Drinkable, just not all that enjoyable. What was this?

Catching up on some old ratings from Untappd -- First rated on 13 July 2013. Not usually a fan of fruit beers, but this one is quite good.

Predominately strawberries with some yeast. Pours clear cidery gold with a thin quickly fading bright white head. Tastes like a combination of Hawaiian Punch and old woman make-up. Not bad enough to pour out but I won't be finishing the four pack.

Single bottle $2.29 from Kroger, Bridge St. Horribly fizzy, instantly disappearing tan head; copper pour. Aroma sweet, molasses, syrup, tangy, butterscotch. Flavor... ew. It’s starts of a little cider-like, but the flavor is just plain odd; tangy, molasses. Thin body. Not a fan of this at all.

Im glad I'm not gluten intolerant, its a decent try to make an interesting beer but its just not that good, too fruity and overly crisp, not for me ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Light amber pour with a bit of white head. Berries, honey, syrup, wheat. Body is boring. Light body with short finish. Not excited about this

Bottle poured a very light amber color with a ring of white head on the glass. Aroma has berry, malt, and grains. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation medium low. Flavor has berry but it is not very pleasant mixed in with the honey and grains. Not my cup of tea.
