Tweason’ale is a beer we brewed on the cusp of summer. It is a gluten-free sorghum based beer brewed with fresh strawberries from our friends at Fifer Orchards near Dover, Delaware. For the sorghum, we sourced a dark, sweet, syrup with notes of molasses and pit-fruit. We also used a a dark buckwheat honey with a beautiful hay-like, earthy-malty thing that we felt added the final touch to this Tweason’ale recipe.

Appearance: reddish golden color, the head dissolves quickly and the head is not very dense, there is not much lacing on the glass, the color is very appetizing and you can see the carbonation bubbles in the beer which is pleasing Aroma: the first thing I smell is honey, it has a slight fruit aroma but the honey smell is definitely dominant Taste: key notes honey, not very sweet which I expected from a strawberry type beer, can tell it is not a wheat based beer Palette: the flavor comes more at the end of the sip, the taste evolves and develops as the sip is taken Overall: I would prefer a non gluten beer but for gluten free individuals this beer is a great Alternative and is a refreshing light beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle from Uptown Market in Beaverton, OR. Aroma is obviously very fruity, but also fairly tart. Mouthfeel is crisp, sharp, and bubbly. Taste is tart and sweet, with a sour finish. Not undrinkable, but not a favorite either.

Bought at Uptown Market. Great summer beer! Yes, it is light, fruity, maybe a little gimmicky. Let’s face it, when it is really hot outside you can drink a s-load of Coors Light or something like this that actually tastes good! Nice strawberry flavor, light in the mouth and easy going down! A sure win for a hot day.

Poured from bottle in a red tinted amber colour with decent sized head that dissipated rather quickly. An earthy of aroma of honey and strawberries confuses the senses as an equally earthy malt honey flavor is introduced. Has a sour and dry after taste. Definitely an acquired taste.

Bottle: Poured a reddish/brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of unrefined grainy notes with light strawberry flavours is a weird mix and not the most enticing. Taste is also dominated by loads of unrefined grainy notes with some light unsweetened strawberry flavours. Body is light with OK carbonation. Body is light with OK carbonation. I’ll leave this one to people that don’t tolerate gluten.

Pours a golden color. Aroma is fruity. Taste is sour and thin. No real strawberry flavor comes out.

Rated on 02-28-2013 on tap at DFH Brewpub, Redobeth Beach, DE. This beer has an off-white head with a short retention, golden transparent body, no visible carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is malt, honey and strawberries. The flavor is sweet, honey, berries, and a very dry finish. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is quaffable, but I do not enjoy this beer’s flavor. It just is not my thing.

This beer was a bit strange. Kind of a sour aroma. The flavor was more wine-like I thought. Carbonated. A sour body and bitter finish.

(bottle - 12 oz) Gold pour with a fizzy white head. Awful sour and rancid fruit smell with stale grass and molasses. Flavor is equally as bad. Sour and tangy strawberry-ish flavor with a dry and overly bitter finish.
