COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
URKontinent is brewed in the style of a Belgian Dubbel. It begins with Pilsner, Munich and Chocolate Malts and Belgian Dark Candi syrup. Then we add unique ingredients from around the world. Wattleseed from Australia imparts a chocolate, coffee, and hazelnut taste to the beer. Toasted Amaranth from South America gives it an earthy, grainy flavor and a little additional roast flavor. Green Rooibos from Africa contributes a floral aroma and slight astringency. Myrica Gale from Europe supplements the bitterness from minimal hopping. Hive Plex Honey from California adds a subtle sweetness while maintaining the dry finish. The careful combination of all these ingredients creates a complex dark Belgian style ale with wonderful coffee and chocolate covered cherry flavors. The roastiness of the malt and wattleseed melds with the fruity esters from the yeast, the floral notes from the rooibos, and the malty yet dry signature of a Belgian Dubbel. Perfect to enjoy with friends as the weather begins to cool.

Poured a very cloudy/hazy brown color with a slight red color. Silky and large off-white head. Aroma is very earthy with seeds, roots, some sesame, and a touch of honey. Taste is very interesting, unlike anything Iíve had before. Lots of seed flavors with some honey and other grain flavors. Very interesting, and I can tell there are a lot of weird ingredients. Some floral qualities as well. Alcohol is slightly noticeable. The finish is very nice with some good roasted flavors and some floral dry notes. Overall this is very good and unique.

750 ml bottle. Served in an Orval chalice, the beer pours a ruby red/brownish color with a half inch tan head that stays around a little while. Thereís also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice and malty, it smells like nuts, chocolate, honey, caramel, and an earthy/herbal aroma that Iím not exactly sure what it is. The brew tastes like nuts, dark fruit, milk and bittersweet chocolate, honey, roasted malt and and earthy/floral/tea like taste that I think is from the rooibos. Thereís a good balance between the sweet and bitter flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit slick and creamy with a good amount of carbonation. I think this is a good overall brew, I liked it. $11.99 a bottle.

Dark. Stout nose. Thin, not thick consistency. Sweet but overly so like most Dogfish beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2012 From a 750 ml bottle. This beer pours a very dark brown/ black with off-white 2 finger head that dissipates quickly. In getting a huge coffee and chocolate note. Also getting a slight bread note from the yeast. Taste starts out semi-sweet and finishes a little dry. Overall an excellent and complex beer and an excellent take on a Belgian Dubbel . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle. Pour was a dark brown with a small tan head with small carb bubbles. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, honey and caramel. This is a tasty one. I get a good stouty chocolate up front that splashed a touch of honey on the back end. Overall, its a pretty good beer. Not something I could drink a ton since its not my style though.

25.4 oz bottle. Dark brown with clear edges and a creamy coating. Nose is raspberry, honey, coffee bean and cocoa. Coating medium body with a tang. Taste is chocolate, banana, currants, earth and brown sugar. Never tasted most of these special ingredients but work well with the dubbel base.

THis was a good beer and the best out of the experimental series from DFH. Nice roasty and earthy flavors come through and balance out the sweet flavors which are expected with both the style as well as the ingredients used. Very well-done.

Bottle poured and drank from a snifter. At first pour this is very different than any beer Iíve had. It had a this head that was very light, and I could audibly hear it fizzing like I had just poured a soda. However, the head dissipated quickly. The color is dark and carmely, much like a cola. I can smell hints of chocolate and a bit of honey in the nose of the beer. This beer tastes chololatey like a stout, with a sweet and clean finish. The mouth feel is very light despite the dark color of the beer. Overall this is a very good beer that I would recommend to my friends. Another fine example of why I love the adventurous approach to beer that Dogfish Head takes.

Bottle poured into 2 glasses, shared with my brother. I wasnít sure what to make of this beer since I donít know what any of the ingredients are except for honey. This smells like an abbey beer but drinks like a creamy porter. Good honey sweetness in the flavor. I dig it!

Pours deep mahogany into a trappist glass. Tan head with good retention pancakes as it recedes to skim surface. Earthy dark chocolate and roasted nut aromas. Thick with honey sweet nuts, earthy spice and chocolate upfront turning dry in the lasting mocha finish.
