3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours golden with a massive foamy white head. Flavor is rosemary, thyme, sage, hop chewiness. So far my favorite of the three, but I have yet to try the Stone.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
2010 bottle thanks to LtDan. Now I have had all three versions. Pours with a hazed vibrant gold body with a white head. Aroma is very minty, parsley is next, then rosemary. Also bready, candi sugar, plastic, grassy and hoppy. Dry and bitter flavors, grassy, hay, cat pee. Spicy. Lively and dry. Enjoyable, but the original Stone version was the best of the three.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355mL courtesy of tastybeer. Pours a slightly hazy pear, very light yellow with a massive, bright white head that has excellent retention and big swathy lacing. Aroma is definitely a step above the Victory and Stone versions: Earthy spices, pears, green apples, amazing florals, lemon peel, even yellow grapefruit, sour orange. Body is fairly intense but refreshing: white grapes, perfumey spices, some spicy alcohol, lots of sage and bay leaves. Soft carbonation. Dry body. This alone proves that the three version of this beer are distinctive. Way above the other two by a long shot.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Couldn’t stop humming "Scarborough Faire" While drinking this - anyway, The sage and to a lesser extent the rosemary dominate the aroma, as well as a citrusy note. Fairly substantial palate. Nice flavors - savory herb, especially sage again, and citrus. Some hoppy, woodsy bitterness as it warms. Very tasty, would love to try the other 2. Or more of this one, for that matter...

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Pours a hazy gold with a tight, creamy lasting white head.
Aroma: Predominately sage and other savory herbs and a whiff of spicy yeast.
Taste: Sage, parsley, and very pronounced yeast that finishes a bit minty and bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, modest carbonation. On the first few sips, it was rather creamy.
Overall: Slight different texture than Stone’s, and had minty elements I don’t recall in the first one either.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
The appearance of this beer has a pale golden color, the head is frothy and white. The aroma of the beer starts sweet and then ends with a herbal resin. The taste starts with medium sweet and ends with light bitter like sour. A great beer!

2.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20
From maniac @ 12th Richmond Gathering: Formaldehyde smell. Hazy yellow, medium head, good lacing. Slightly funked orange peel flavor. Alcohol noticeable. The weakest of the three SdB versions.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From bottle. Strong sage aroma, with a bit of rosemary. Mild hops. Very herbal with some sweet pilsner malt and a bit of honey and lemon grass. Pale hazy golden body with huge pillowy foamy-creamy white lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation, light fizzy burn. Starts mildly sweet, with pilsner malt, mild bit of honey and wheat, and the taste of sage. Light hops kick in with an herbal bitterness. Chalky bitter finish with sweet undertones, lemon grass, and a bit of thyme and rosemary in the aftertaste. Light water astringency in the finish, too. Nice saison.
