roomtempbeer (185), Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 8, 2005 On tap at the "Pennsylvania Microbrewers Fest 2005" at Penn Brewery in Pittsburgh on June 4, 2005. In a 7 oz. flute/ shaker glass provided, this beer is very cloudy, and light yellow in color. Aroma includes wheat, honey, citrus, and flowery bouquet. Flavor is lightly sweet with wildflower honey, perfectly finished with light hop bitterness. Very easily drinkable - a great summertime refreshment. I would love to see this come out in bottles.
pjk33 (383), Sligo - Curllsville Heights, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 13, 2005 Draught. Had this one at the Penn Brew Fest on June 4, 05. Pours a light golden color with a smallish head and very little lacing. Nose is certainly flowery and I didn’t get as much honey aroma in it as homebrewerguy, but there was a little sweetness there. Immediate wheat flavor mixed with something that was interesting, but not necessarily good. I liked the beer, but there was some sort of strange flavor in there for me. Maybe it was the chamomile. As always, DFH is having fun with beer. Not bad stuff. Homebrewerguy (254), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 10, 2005 I vas also at der Pennsylvania brewery Fest unt triet zis bier. "Achtung’, mein tastink buds vas zayink. Zis ist no ordinarily vheat bier. All zhe classic vheat characters vas zhere, but zo vas mein honey! Unt zis honey hat flowers in zhe tastink. Zis ist ein standink out bier.
Earlier Rating: 6/8/2005 Total Score: 4
I had this beer on tap at the Penn Brewery Fest on June 4. This is a wonderful specialty wheat beer with the honey flavor dominant at first taste but gives way to a flowery flavor. A mild hop bitterness rounds out this beer.
