World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

bottled 11/14/08. black with ruby highlights under a fizzy brown head. not nearly as dark as i expected. vinous aroma with red wine, bitter dark chocolate, alcohol. a creamy, smooth palate that goes down easy. flavors of peanut butter, chocolate, red wine. warming finish. abv is hidden nicely. impressive flavor and palate.

Bottle - Thnx BZ, followed him home from Chi-town. Poured a dark brown/black, but not as black as expected. Alcohol is prevalent, but plenty of chocolate, coffee flavors. Finished much much sweeter than expected. Over all a very drinkable and enjoyable stout.

A: Pours a nice dark black color, the darkest espresso has nothing on this one. The head is actually pretty mild. Is does rise to just over a finger before dying down to a simple collar around the edge of the glass. There is minimal lacing. S: Nice sweet cocoa aroma. There is licorice, rum soaked raisins, and vanilla in the background. A hint of espresso is also noted. This is one I have been hanging on to, I can’t wait to taste. T: Wow this bugger is sweet. Tons of rock candy right up front. As the sweetness fades the chocolate comes thru. Nice semi sweet chocolate mingled with fine Cuban espresso. The dark fruits, and a hint of licorice come thru in the end. I am amazed that there is no alcohol to be found. M: The beer is medium bodied, yet very flat in the glass and on the tongue. D: I like my beers sweet, this one is on the edge of cloying for a stout, but it’s a real dessert like treat.

Haha, how do you people like this beer so much? The pour was pretty bubbly, and the deepest red-brown (not black) I’ve seen which is kinda cool. The aroma was blech! model airplane glue with overpowering alcohol and an aroma a bit like the palo santo which I love, but more on the Jack Daniels end of the spectrum which I don’t enjoy particularly. Flavor is also extreme alcohol with a faint roasted after taste if you can bear to get through the alcohol domination of your life. It was given to me with a warning to be prepared to guzzle jet fuel, and wow was that close to being correct. Only a 12 overall because I can appreciate the effort it took to brew this colossus.

On tap, at the memphis taprooms. my eyes lit up when I saw this was on. Pours viscous black, but not as thick as I thought it might have. nose was heavy with chocolate, and berries. taste was chocolate covered strawberries, sweet and thick like a chocolate milk shake, or maybe hersheys syrup. after you get used to its thickness, and crazy over the top taste, you notice all of the nuiances. some soy in the nose, and burnt sugar. even some salt in the taste. big hops balance, Excellent brew.

04. Poured midnight black with brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. The age did wonders for this. Really smooth. Some coffee and chocolate. Roasted. Amazing.
