World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Very smooth for a beer of this size. Definately worth a try for the stout lover.

This beer was bloody good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The alcohol was well masked. It is strong and damn good. It tasted kind of like a wine that met a stout and had a party. I really enjoyed this beer and recommend it to anyone. Don’t drink too many or you’ll be needing help home.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2003 Over rated, tastes like burnt wood and vodka. Not my beer at all.

RE-RATE: up to 4.9 from 4.8 - this is one awesome brew and I am now suffering from withdrawals!!

ORIGINAL: Saved this for my #99 rating. WOW! This is one original and innovative beer. I would categorize this as a cross between an Imperial Stout and a Barley Wine. Drink from a goblet to fully appreciate all that it has to offer. Pours with medium sized, tightly carbonated, dark brown head. Very dark brown body - almost black. HUGE nose of sweet/winey malt mixed with roasted coffee notes - excellent aromas. Chewy and oily palate - perfect! BIG and BOLD flavors of sweet/winey malt, roasted coffee and pinenuts. Finishes with smooth and long aftertaste - winey, pinenuts and to a lesser degree - bittersweet hops. Again, HUGE flavors - reminds me of a Rasputin but not so overly hopped (which is good). Overall it leans towards sweet/winey tastes - which is my only knock against it. But still, DFH WWS is my #1 ranked IS. Damn good beer!

Thick and smoky aroma to it, almost like a cigar. The appearance is like night; you can’t see a thing. The flavor is real smoky, with the usual burnt stout taste. The alcohol is not readily apparent until after. Which for me is right now.

Oh my God. This ’beer’ is absolutely fantastic. If you like complex flavors this is your beer. The alcohol is there, but you wouldn’t guess it is 18%. The alcohol intensity rivals Chimay blue label (which is very mild). This is probably my favorite beer--Right up there with Westvleteren Abt 12. A MUST Have. Look on ebay.com for some!

Can a beer have to much flavor.....or cost to much? At six bucks for a 12 oz bottle both of the above may be true. Well worth the try, but six dollars a bottle?!

Wow, this beer poured as black as the night. No light is getting thru this brew. Formed a small, very dark tan head that left some lace. An aroma of coffee, chocolate and plum. The flavor was an interesting mix of coffee, chocolate plum and cherry. A hint of alcohol, but not bad considering it’s 18%. Some aspects of an imperial, but too sweet to fall under that catagory. The finish was light, which I wasn’t expecting in this heavy style of a beer. Definately a sipping type of beer. Still won’t be able to get it in Ohio, but at it’s price, I would probably be broke most of the time. Well worth trying in spite of the hefty price.
