Commercial Description:
This listing encompasses: A) the November, 2001 release (18% abv), B) the November, 2003 U.S. (but not U.K.) release (18.8% abv), C) the November, 2004 release (18% abv), and D) the November 2005 release (17.8% abv) and E) all subsequent releases due both to their similarity in alcohol content and a lack of change in recipe. 2004 - Bright yellow cap, no date stamp
2005 - Bright yellow cap, date stamp
2006 - Dark green cap, date stamp
2007 - Dark green cap, date stamp
2008 - Yellowish-green cap, date stamp
World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Bottle from Liquid Solutions (yellowish green cap). Opaque brown/black color with a minimal tan head. Aroma seems to be coffee, wood and vanilla. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Heat is noticeable but not excessive. Flavor is coffee, chocolate and a touch of woody vanilla. Finishes pretty dry. Despite an ending touch of treacle. Whoo!

A bottle thanks to AskDrTodd. Wow delicious. I had the 2008 12 oz bottle. Drink 2 of these and you are set for the night. High alcohol but not really noticeable until you stand up. Another great beer from Dogfish.

12 oz bottle. it looks like a black hole with a cappuccino head. All light is absorbed. raisins, chocolate, roasted malts, and rich, thick molasses dominate the aromas while chilled coffee bean and frappacino lay sedated underneath. the dark cacao explodes on top of all that accented by rich, chocolate marshmallows. intense, to say the least. rich, milk chocolate and dark creme de caco is enriched by the raisiny alcohol on the palate. one sip, two sips, stout sip, perfect sips. though the alcohol did not set off any alarms on the aroma, it definitely cuts through the palate. velvet-like carbonated silk is how i could describe the ale waltzing all over my palate. the palate mirrors the aromas, but accentuates the strong espresso bean flavor, dipped in hearty dark chocolate. not only does this ale exude the characteristics of the stronger beers, but also that which embodies the definition of an imperial stout. while the heat provides an aspect of allspice and black pepper, it is still always a pleasure to taste near-perfection.

Poured black with brown head. Aroma of plum, molasses and alcohol. Strong melange of flavors including molasses, malts, chocolate, and alcohol. Full bodied stout. Very suprised at the drinkabliltiy for an Imp of this size ABV.

12 oz. bottle - Poured black with thin tan head. Aroma - bourbon, coco, coffee and vanilla. Flavor - capuccino, coffee, roasted almonds. Tastes more like a baltic porter than a stout. Palate - medium to heavy mouthfeel with below average carbonation. Smooth going down with slightly dry finish with smokey aftertaste. Overall - Easy drinking Stout for such a high ABV. I liked the beer but not blown away.

Enjoyed in Massachusetts. A very dark brown stout with slight tan head. Roasty and alcy nose. Taste of malts, chocolate, coffee (espresso even) and high-ABV. Sweet and very creamy. Excellent.

Bottle, split with Bram, $8 in CT. Pours dark brown/black with a wispy brown head. Aroma of grain, alcohol, espresso and roasts. Initial palate is sweet, with rich chocolate, mocha, and nuttiness. Mid-palate rounds in to more smoky notes while maintaining sharp espresso bean flavors. Finishes builds with heat, but stays excellently balanced. Reminds me of a mature bourbon-coffee, with just the right amount of sweetness to make this decadent.
