World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Enjoyed in Massachusetts. A very dark brown stout with slight tan head. Roasty and alcy nose. Taste of malts, chocolate, coffee (espresso even) and high-ABV. Sweet and very creamy. Excellent.

Bottle, split with Bram, $8 in CT. Pours dark brown/black with a wispy brown head. Aroma of grain, alcohol, espresso and roasts. Initial palate is sweet, with rich chocolate, mocha, and nuttiness. Mid-palate rounds in to more smoky notes while maintaining sharp espresso bean flavors. Finishes builds with heat, but stays excellently balanced. Reminds me of a mature bourbon-coffee, with just the right amount of sweetness to make this decadent.

12oz bottle pours deep brown black with a slight tan head. Alot of chocolate in the aroma. A good medium body with alot of coffee, chocolate, and burnt sugar. Flavor lasts a long time and goes down WAY too easily. Nice job DFH.

2008 bottle pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is semi-sweet with strong alcohol presence. Taste has a very distinct sweetness combined with a sour cherry tartness to give it a port like taste . Good amount of alcohol burn that doesn’t overpower your palate. Mouth feel is thick and coating. The sugar content is just too much and the tartness is the only thing of interest in flavors presented by this stout.

12 oz bottle dated 11/08. Wow. I just drank 12 ounces of this incredible stuff without realizing it was 18% ABV. The alcohol taste is very subtle though I am feeling the effects so it must be true. This is the highest rating I have given to anything yet. I wish I were more technical to better describe the qualities of this one but instead all I can say is, damn, this is good. Thank you again Dogfish.

Let me start off by saying that this is one of the most incredible beers on Earth. Anybody who even enjoys the occasional stout will fall in love with this champion. It pours very dark. Tastes like a great mix of coffee and chocolate, and the alcohol isn’t even very pronounced (a true feat for an 18% beer). It goes down smooth, but it’s best enjoyed when it’s sipped and savored. Don’t let the high price tag deter you, this beer is well worth the money, and you certainly won’t regret or forget the good times had with the World Wide Stout.

sharp wood notes on the nose and flavor. roasted grains and grasses. wine and port notes. the usual coffee, bittersweet chocolate foundation you’d expect from an imperial. very malty sweet on the front end. it’s basically a wood aged imperial. brilliant.

2008/2009 Bottle: Super black with an instant brown sugary head that dissipates rapidly... instant aromas of red plums, dark coffee roast, dark chocalate and alcohol., got some zinfandel and port like characteristics.. flavor is intense like an aged port or sherry, dark fruits and roast, a little bourbony.. smoooooth, oh so smoooth, this could easily substitue for a cocktail for the evening.
