2004 - Bright yellow cap, no date stamp
2005 - Bright yellow cap, date stamp

2007 - Dark green cap, date stamp
2008 - Yellowish-green cap, date stamp
World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

I’ll start by quoting Pwn3d on this one: "Flavors push down on your tongue attacking like bee stings (pecan, ash, tobacco, burnt coffee, and sugar cane)." I’ll add smoked gouda to that list of tastes, as that was the most dominant flavor that I couldn’t quite shake. Super thick and overpowering. Really a novelty more than anything else, and overhyped in my book. Just too much of everything. Perhaps it was too late in that night’s tasting...

Slightly below room temp. at Chris’ place. Smell is fantastic. Strong alcohol smell, which got me excited! Held up to the light and really couldn’t see any light coming through. No syrupy sticking to the glass and not sludgy at all. The taste is very full and very strong. It kind of tingles in your mouth and goes down very smooth with a certain dryness that shows the 18%. After swallowing you can taste the complexity. I don’t have any more left as i write but i noticed a strong sweetness like molasses and also a hint of smokiness. I really liked this beer and cannot wait to have some more.

Pours very black with little head. Aroma is alcohol and chocolate. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, and, of course, alcohol. Palette is full bodied and amazingly well balanced with a surprisingly clean finish. This beer is awesome. Although the alcohol is obvious it isn’t as strong as the percentage would suggest (making is a little dangerous).

I honestly thought this was hyped up a little more than it was cracked up to be. Rich and heavy mouth feel that is slightly oily I did not think there was a lot of balance. I got some soy sauce, licorice and alcohol, perhaps a little black tea in the finish. Sweet and somewhat roasty in the finish as it warms. Not my cup of tea. Way too big for it britches.

Bottle. Pours midnight oil. The aroma is sweet yeasty and intense. The nose is very sweet. Some toffee, butter, caramel, and the yeast is very strong on the palate. The finish is malty which somewhat balances this huge beer. The mouth feel is heavy and slick like corn syrup. The finish is slightly malty with alcohol warming. Not m cup of tea but still a very nice stout.

Nose is alcohol, sugar, paint thinner and SHARPY pen. Flavors push down on your tongue attacking like bee stings (pecan, ash, tabacco, burnt coffee, and sugar cane). Very sweet and sugary, diabase in a bottle.. but a nice sipper. Leaves a friendly roasty coating on the tongue when done. Gets you feeling good quickly.. the best part of this beer is the malty flavor it leaves in your mouth while you lay back and enjoy the 18%. Well worth the oral rape.

Dark pour leaving little head. Very strong alcohol taste but to be expected with this monster stout. Great beer for a dessert.. sip slowly

Pours black with a creamy dark tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, and of course alcohol. Flavors of coffee, sweet malt, and alcohol.
