World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Wow, this beer will really put some hair on your knuckles. A very heavy charcoal aroma, with a burnt malt hint. A beautiful jet-black color, but the head was light to non-existent from this bottle fully diminishing. The flavor was a pungent toasted malt with a chocolate charcoal flavor. An alcoholic acidic finish that lingered on the palate as well. A very oily feel, but soft, and it had an astringent feel afterward. This beer is highly rated and is a great achievement for Dogfish Head. I can see where a lot of people would love this beer, but it is just not for me. I appreciate the work that went into creating it and should be a popular beer for a long time. Enjoy, but for me, I will move on.

2004 bottle @ Alex’s. Nose is a ton of malts and a hint of soy. Flavour is yum yum smooth here, which gives it some serious chocolate and raisin flavor, but it is really expertly brewed and the malt doesn’t taste hot and I didn’t detect any off flavors at all. Decadent.

Bottle at tasting. Dark pour. Aroma of red fruit, subtle booze, port wine and some roast. Rich smooth taste of red fruit, warming booze, malt, subtle roast and a long finish. This is like a port wine beer. Very nice.

2013 bottle. An extreme beer that’s big in just about every way. At 18%, it’s something you pretty much have to share with a friend, even in a 12oz bottle. There’s an absolute ton of malt here, which gives it some serious chocolate and raisin flavor, but it is really expertly brewed and the malt doesn’t taste hot and I didn’t detect any off flavors at all. Decadent.

[2013] 12oz bottle. Pitch black with a thin foamy tan head. Flavors are roasted cereals, caramel, chocolate, molasses, vanilla, licorice, alcohol and dark fruits. Full body, soft carbonation, syrupy texture. Surprisingly drinkable considering the ABV.

Tükörsima, hab nélküli főzet pokolfekete színben, amelynek csak a legfelső rétegén, a pohár falához legközelebb lévő pár milliméternyi gyűrűjén hatol át a fény.

Aroma chocolate, alcohol, grapes, Appearance black, tan foam, brown foam, Taste medium sweetness, heavy sweetness, Palate medium body, Overall this beer tastes every bit of 18%. There is way too much alcohol in the taste for me. I got a 5oz. pour and that was more than enough for me. I would not suggest this beer to a friend.
